  • BREAKING NEWS: NIGER MILITARY NEUTRALIZES FULANI BANDITS NEAR BORDER, CAPTURES KEY FIGURE ISMAILI GARGA DIALLO

In a major security breakthrough, the Niger Republic military has successfully neutralized several suspected Fulani bandits and terrorists at the nation’s border region with Nigeria.

The operation, which took place yesterday day, left many of the assailants wounded and a number of them captured, including a notorious figure identified as Ismaili Garga Diallo.

This decisive military action comes amid intensified efforts by General Abdourahamane Tchiani's administration to clamp down on terrorism and cross-border criminal activities.

According to reports, the General had earlier issued warnings in the Fulani language—three times—to dissuade the armed group from further violence, but the warnings were ignored.

Observers say this latest operation demonstrates the government’s firm stance on restoring peace and stability in the region, with General Tchiani showing zero tolerance for acts of terrorism.

Authorities are yet to release an official statement on the operation, but the development has been welcomed as a positive step towards enhanced security in the region.

  • *TOPIC: BELIEVING GOD FOR THE MIRACULOUS.*(Series 5)

    *Scripture Reading:* 2 King 6:28-29

*"And the king said to her, “What is the matter with you?” She answered, “This woman said to me, ‘Give your son so we may eat him today, and we will eat my son tomorrow.’ So we cooked my son and ate him. The next day I said to her, ‘Give your son so that we may eat him’; but she had hidden her son.”*(AMP)

After Ben-hadad king of Aram (Syria) attacked Samaria and took all valuable thing away, thereafter, there was a great famine in the land of Samaria to a point at which people began to kill their own children one after another, cooked it and eat in order to sustain other family members from hunger. What a pathetic condition.

*I pray by the mercy of God, there will be a great, massive provisional Miracle in Nigeria at this season and there will be peace in every home in Jesus Christ name. Amen!*

Then in chapter 7, Prophet Elisha declared by the word of the Lord; *"Then Elisha said, “Hear the word of the Lord. Thus says the Lord, ‘Tomorrow about this time a measure of finely-milled flour will sell for a shekel, and two measures of barley for a shekel, at the gate of Samaria." Then the royal officer on whose arm the king leaned answered the man of God and said, “If the Lord should make windows in heaven [for the rain], could this thing take place?” Elisha said, “Behold, you will see it with your own eyes, but [because you doubt] you will not eat of it.”*(1-2, AMP)

Truly, there was a massive provision in less than twenty four hours and the land of Samaria experienced great turn around for the first time in the land. I am here to announce to you this morning that this is exactly what the Lord will do in our land and there will be a great turn around in Jesus Christ name. *"It happened just as [Elisha] the man of God had spoken to the king, saying, “Two measures of barley will be sold for a shekel and a measure of finely-milled flour for a shekel tomorrow about this time at the gate of Samaria.”*(vs 18 AMP)

For you to experience the miraculous, you must believe in the God of Miracle. Don't be like the royal officer that discard the prophecy. *"Then the royal officer on whose arm the king leaned answered the man of God and said, “If the Lord should make windows in heaven [for the rain], could this thing take place?” Elisha said, “Behold, you will see it with your own eyes, but [because you doubt] you will not eat of it.”* To be continue tomorrow morning by God's Grace. Good morning and do have a fruitful Friday, peace.

*Prayer point:* LORD, just as you brought a great change to the land of Samaria, visit our land and every homes o God and turn our situation around in this season in Jesus Christ name. Amen!

  • INEC Meets Political Party Leaders, Sets Date for Bye-Elections, Anambra and Nationwide Voter Registration

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) continued its series of regular consultative meetings with key stakeholders on Day 2 of engagements, with leaders of registered political parties across the country.
In his opening remarks, the INEC Chairman, Professor Mahmood Yakubu, provided a comprehensive update on upcoming electoral activities, including the scheduling of bye-elections, the resumption of Continuous Voter Registration (CVR), and preparations for the Anambra State Governorship election.

Prof. Yakubu announced that INEC has fixed Saturday, August 16, 2025, for the conduct of bye-elections in 16 constituencies across 12 states of the federation. The elections will involve 3,553,659 registered voters across 32 Local Government Areas, 356 Wards, and 6,987 Polling Units. The Commission plans to deploy 30,451 election officials for the exercise.
However, the Commission stated that bye-elections will not hold in Khana II State Constituency in Rivers State, due to the ongoing state of emergency, and in Talata Mafara South State Constituency in Zamfara State, owing to a legal dispute regarding the declared vacancy by the State Assembly.

Prof. Yakubu emphasized the tight timeline for conducting the bye-elections, noting that party primaries are to be held from July 17 to 21, 2025, while submission of nomination forms via the INEC portal will begin at 9:00 a.m. on July 22 and close at 6:00 p.m. on July 26. Public campaigns are scheduled to run from August 2 to August 14, 2025.

The INEC Chairman also revealed that the Commission has approved the resumption of CVR at two levels: state-specific and nationwide.
In Anambra State, ahead of the forthcoming governorship election, CVR will take place in all 326 Wards from July 8 to 17, 2025, running daily from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., including weekends. This window will allow new voters, those transferring registration, or seeking replacement of lost or damaged PVCs to update their status. PVCs from previous exercises will also be available for collection at registration centres.
On a national scale, online pre-registration will resume on August 18, 2025, followed by in-person registration on August 25, 2025, across INEC's 37 State and FCT offices and 774 Local Government Area offices nationwide.

Speaking at the meeting, Alhaji Yusuf Dantalle, National Chairman of the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC), reaffirmed the council’s dedication to promoting electoral integrity and democratic governance.

“IPAC is unwavering in its commitment to fostering electoral integrity, political stability and inspiring trust in electoral governance,” Dantalle said.
He urged stakeholders to uphold the sanctity of the ballot and hold elected officials accountable as a means of strengthening Nigeria’s democracy.
Dantalle highlighted the upcoming Anambra Governorship election as an opportunity for INEC to demonstrate technological advancement in election administration, particularly with the application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in electoral governance to enhance transparency, reduce risks, and improve voter engagement.

He also commended INEC and the Federal Government for the ongoing construction of the new headquarters annex of the Commission, describing it as a significant step toward improving INEC’s operational efficiency.

The meeting was attended by NationalCommissioners, the Secretary to the Commission, aides to the INEC Chairman, and Directors from various departments within the Commission.

  • Alleged N110b Fraud: Court Adjourns Yahaya Bello’s Trial to July 8

Justice Maryanne Anenih of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) High Court in Maitama, Abuja, on Wednesday, adjourned the N110 billion fraud trial of the immediate past Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, and two others until July 8; October 8 and 9; and November 12 and 13.

Bello is facing trial alongside Umar Oricha and Abdulsalami Hudu, on16-count charges bordering on criminal breach of trust and money laundering to the tune of N110.4 billion. The offence, according to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, is contrary to Sections 96 and 311 of the Penal Code Law Cap.89, Laws of Northern Nigeria, 1963, and punishable under Section 312 of the same law.

At the resumed hearing of the matter on Wednesday, EFCC first witness, Fabian Nwora completed his evidence. Nwora is the chairman of EFAB Property which handled the property that is the subject of the suit. He told the court that he opened negotiations on the said property but that the negotiation was concluded by Segun Adeleke, who is the EFCC second witness (PW2)

Nwora had, at a previous hearing, testified that he was invited to the EFCC on Feb. 8, 2023. He explained that it was in regard to a transaction between Shehu Bello and EFAB Property on a property located at No. 1 Ikogosi Street, Maitama. He noted that it was Mr Shehu who approached him about the property.

Adeleke, led by the prosecution counsel, Kemi Pinheiro, SAN, reiterated that, in 2020, his chairman, Nwora, gave him the brief on the property, which Shehu showed interest in. He said the deal was concluded and N500 million paid for the said property.

When asked further what happened afterwards, the witness said Bello returned to their office, with the agreement. “He told me that he was no longer interested in the property as a result of the EFCC investigation.

“My chairman said he would revert after consulting with our company secretary,” he said.

Pinheiro asked about some documents issued to one Nuhu Muhammed in respect of a property in the Gwarinpa area. The witness confirmed that the documents were issued to the said Muhammed after he purchased one of the units of the detached bungalows belonging to EFAB Property Limited.

At that point, Counsel for Mr Shehu and the second defendant Joseph Daudu, SAN, objected. He said “My lord, there is a clear disconnect between the documents sought to be tendered and the foundation laid by the witness himself.” The prosecution, however, said the objection was misconceived and it was subsequently overruled by the Judge.

Justice Anenih adjourned the case until July 8 and Oct 8, 2025, for continuation of hearing.
