  • Just In; Sowore Arrives At Nigerian Police Headquarters With Travel Bag, Soap; Supporters Issue Two-Hour Ultimatum For His Release

Human rights activist and #RevolutionNow convener, Omoyele Sowore, on Wednesday arrived at the Nigeria Police Force Headquarters in Abuja carrying a travel bag, as he honoured a controversial invitation from the Inspector General of Police’s Monitoring Unit over a petition reportedly filed against him.

Sowore, who arrived at exactly 12:16 p.m., was accompanied by his lawyers, Barristers A.K. Musa and Marshal Abubakar, along with a crowd of supporters chanting anti-government and anti-Kayode Egbetokun songs. His visibly packed travel bag contained personal essentials — including toothpaste, toothbrush, soap, clothing, books, and other items — a symbolic gesture suggesting he was prepared for possible detention.

Tensions escalated as members of the Take It Back Movement and other allied activist groups issued a two-hour ultimatum to the police to either release Sowore or face mass resistance.

“If they refuse to release Sowore, then they must arrest us with him. We are not going to leave here. This is 12:16 p.m., and after two hours, if they fail to release him, then they have to arrest all of us,” declared Princess Mikky, convener of #NUDE NIGERIA.

  • Peter Obi celebrates his birthday today. Okwute Ndi Igbo. A notable philanthropic gesture was made yesterday with a ₦15 million donation to the UNN Dentistry Department, exemplifying his commitment to education. Despite his reluctance to celebrate birthdays, we are compelled to acknowledge him. Let us overwhelm this post with expressions of goodwill. As a distinguished politician known for his consistency, discipline, and selflessness, he merits celebration. Happy birthday to Peter Obi. May God's guidance and protection continue to be upon him. We celebrate you on behalf of all of us at Jaconna and JAGAJAG Africa and wish you well in your quest to liberate Nigeria from corrupt politicians. As a pan-African, we stand by you at all times.

  • Aliko Dangote Tops the List of World’s Richest Black People

Here is What We Can Learn

A newly released global ranking of the world’s wealthiest Black individuals has the world talking and sitting confidently at number one is Nigeria’s own business titan, Aliko Dangote.

    The Journey Begins...
In 1977, at just 21, Dangote borrowed ₦500,000 (about $3,000 at the time) from his uncle to begin trading in rice, sugar, and cement. Rather than spending his early profits, he reinvested them over and over again. With time, he shifted from importation to local production, laying the groundwork for Dangote Cement, now one of Africa’s industrial giants.

Despite operating in one of the world’s most volatile business environments, Dangote weathered every storm:
Economic Instability: From inflation to power shortages, he adapted and persisted.

Global Competition: He built businesses that could go toe-to-toe with international brands.

    Bold Risks:
He invested over $20 billion into Africa’s largest refinery, betting big on local capacity.

5 Business Lessons from Dangote’s Rise:
    1. Start Small, Dream Big
He didn’t wait for millions to start. He began with trade and scaled strategically.
Lesson: Use what you have, but aim far beyond your starting point.

    2. Reinvest Before You Reward Yourself
Instead of splurging, Dangote poured profits back into the business.
Lesson: Grow your assets before your lifestyle.

    3. Solve Local Problems
He noticed Nigeria was importing what it could easily produce and changed that.
Lesson: Find the gap in your market and fill it.

    4. Stay Consistent Through Chaos
Whether it was currency crashes or market shocks, he never lost focus.
Lesson: Real resilience is measured in tough times.

    5. Build Beyond Yourself
His ventures fuel local economies in energy, agriculture, and industry.
Lesson: Profit is good, but legacy is better.

“Don’t kill your dreams with small thinking. Start humbly but never let your vision shrink.”

  • The United States President Donald Trump has asked some African countries to accept deported migrants who are not Africans.

According to the Wall Street Journal, the United States sent proposals to five West African presidents, asking them to take in migrants whose home countries won’t accept them.

Nigeria has rejected the United States request, citing they have bigger problems at home.

These are not citizens of those African nations, but people the U.S. wants to offload because their home countries have refused to take them back.

Nigeria’s Foreign Minister Yusuf Tuggar made the country’s position crystal clear: “We have enough problems of our own… We cannot accept Venezuelan deportees to Nigeria, for crying out loud,” he said.

  • WHAT NIGERIANS ARE SAYING ABOUT THE DEATH OF BUHARI NOT NEW SAME WAS SAID ABOUT SANI ABACHA'S DEATH

Former Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari Dies in London at 82
Nigeria’s former president Muhammadu Buhari has died at the age of 82 in a London clinic, his family has announced.

Buhari, who governed Nigeria from 2015 to 2023, was reported to have travelled to the United Kingdom in April for a routine medical check-up but subsequently fell ill. The cause of death has not been disclosed.

In a brief statement on Sunday, Buhari’s family confirmed his passing: “The family of the former president has announced the passing on of Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR, this afternoon in a clinic in London. May Allah accept him in Aljannatul Firdaus, Amin.”

As a Nigerian, I must express my dissatisfaction with the leadership provided over the past eight years. Rather than experiencing benefits, I have faced pain, limited opportunities for growth, and witnessed similar hardships for numerous youths from my generation. This was also the case during his military rule, which my father endured. His leadership style is marked by a lack of progress, which has been transferred to those under his leadership. While some argue that he fought corruption, it is evident that the majority of Nigerian politicians are corrupt, yet none have been held accountable. Furthermore, his leadership has been marred by the loss of many Nigerian youths during the End SARS protest and Shi'ite protest, which seemed to be of little concern to him. We do not rejoice in the passing of good individuals, but we also do not condemn those who speak the truth about evil men. Are you satisfied with the leaders Nigeria has had since Jonathan left office? In my opinion, Buhari is an evil man, comparable to General Sani Abacha, whose death was celebrated by Nigerians. If you do well, Nigerians will mourn your passing, but if you do evil, people will speak out.

  • Aliko Dangote to Build 1.6 Million Barrel Fuel Storage in Namibia to Supply Southern Africa

Nigeria’s Dangote Petroleum Refinery plans to construct large-scale fuel storage tanks in Namibia’s Walvis Bay capable of holding at least 1.6 million barrels of gasoline and diesel, to supply refined fuel to Southern Africa.

The planned storage facilities will support the export of fuel products from Dangote’s $20 billion refinery in Lagos, the largest in Africa, which began operations in 2023.

The storage tanks will serve as a regional distribution hub for landlocked countries including Botswana, Zambia, and Zimbabwe, helping to reduce dependency on fuel imports from Europe and Asia.

The Dangote Group has not publicly disclosed the project timeline or investment cost for the Namibian storage facility, but local authorities anticipate that the project will be operational within the next 18 to 24 months.
