• TROOPS UNCOVER MASSIVE IED CACHE ON MARTE–DIKWA BRIDGE IN BORNO STATE

Troops of Operation HADIN KAI in conjunction with members of the CJTF have uncovered a significant cache of improvised explosive devices (IEDs) emplaced by Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists on the strategic bridge linking Marte and Dikwa in Borno State. The discovery was made by Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) teams deployed from both Marte and Dikwa Forward Operating Bases during a targeted clearance operation.

So far, a total of 56 fully prepared IEDs have been safely recovered from the location. Controlled procedures are currently underway to render the remaining devices safe for complete recovery and disposal.

This successful operation has prevented a potentially catastrophic attack and reaffirms the vigilance, expertise, and commitment of Nigerian troops in safeguarding key infrastructure and civilian lives within the North East theatre.

  • Tracking Down FCDA worker detained by FCT Minister Wike Over Leaked Land Allocation Scandal Involving his children

Last Friday, Mairiga Hassan Shaharu, a staff member at the Federal Capital Development Administration (FCDA), was unlawfully detained at the FCDA Police Post on the orders of Nyesom Wike’s Chief Security Officer (CSO). He was accused of leaking documents showing that the FCT Minister had illegally allocated large portions of Abuja land to his two underage sons, a scandal first reported by Peoples Gazette.

But the truth is that Mairiga doesn’t even have access to the Land Department’s internal systems. He works in the department that handles new land applications, not approvals or allocations.

I visited the police post tonight with two human rights lawyers, Rosemary HamzaHamza and Ak Musa. We were later joined by a third lawyer who had tried unsuccessfully to secure Mairiga’s release earlier. According to him, Wike’s CSO used a forged court order to detain Mairiga. The IPO on the case refused to show the order. When the lawyer managed to glance at it, he discovered the order came from a magistrate who no longer presides in the jurisdiction, a clear evidence of forgery and abuse of office.

After some three hours of confrontation by telephone, Wike’s CSO claimed they couldn’t locate the Investigating Police Officer (IPO), it was a ruse.

Meanwhile, the senior female officer in charge of the police post returned from Karu, summoned to calm things down, she immediately said she lacked the power to release Mairiga, because he was Wike’s personal detainee.

Eventually, the CSO called back and claimed Wike had changed his mind. He said the matter was now “beyond” him as it was now in the hands of the FCT Police Commissioner, CP Wale Ajao, the same Commissioner of the Nigeria Police Force who recently helped imprison a TikToker on behalf of Senator Prince Ned Nwoko and his youngest wife, Regina Daniels. I called CP Ajao directly, but he pretended the detention was based on a valid court order—unaware that we had already confirmed the order was fake. He repeated the same tactic, “Go to court.”

Then came the most brazen move, Wike’s CSO called again and said Wike himself wants to see me at his office tomorrow morning alongside the detained worker. I asked him if he even knew who he was speaking to. I told him flatly, Wike couldn't have summoned me, he knew better not to make such a mistake and I will not be visiting his office.

Before ending the call, I asked the CSO, If Wike never allocated land to his children, why is someone being detained for leaking documents that supposedly don’t exist?

Wike should be the one under investigation for allocating public lands to his children, a clear criminal conduct, not Citizen Mairiga.

  • Angélique Kidjo first black African to get Hollywood Walk of Fame star

Musical icon Angélique Kidjo has become the first black African performer to be selected for a star on the prestigious Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Kidjo, who comes from the West African country of Benin and has won five Grammy awards, was among the 35 names announced as part of the Walk of Fame's class of 2026 list.

The 64-year-old was hailed as Africa's "premier diva" during a press conference announcing the list on Wednesday.

Singer Miley Cyrus, actor Timothée Chalamet, actress Demi Moore and former basketball player Shaquille O'Neal are also among those set to be honoured with a star on Los Angeles' famous walk.

Kidjo receives the honour after making music for more than four decades and releasing 16 albums.

The songstress has won fans across the world with her commanding voice and ability to fuse West African styles with the likes of funk, jazz and R&B.

Her long list of collaborators includes forces such as Burna Boy, Philip Glass, Sting and Alicia Keys.

Kidjo joins Charlize Theron, a white South African actress, in representing Africa on the Walk of Fame, which comprises more than 2,700 stars.

Theron received her star in 2005.

The date on which Kidjo will see her star unveiled on the Walk of Fame has not yet been announced.

After recipients have been selected for a star, they have two years to schedule induction ceremonies.

Kidjo grew up in Benin, but left for Paris in 1983, citing oppression from the country's then communist government.

"From the moment the communist regime arrived in Benin, I became aware that the freedom we enjoy can be snatched away in a second," she told the BBC in 2023.

She said she has been driven by curiosity since childhood, adding: "my nickname was 'when, why, how?'. I want to understand things, to understand my place in this world."

Kidjo worked as a backing singer in France before striking out as a solo artist in 1990, with the album Parakou.

She is a Unicef and Oxfam goodwill ambassador, and has her own charity, Batonga, which is dedicated to supporting the education of young girls in Africa.

  • I Mistakenly Drank Green Tea And This Happened To Me

So I use to pluck moringa leaf from a tree close to a house I was staying to make tea.

Things were going smoothly and I loved it because it makes me relax without getting addicted.

There are several ways I could relax, but most of them especially things to take have a very dangerous side effect: ADDICTION.

this is why I opted for moringa as the tea makes me feel well and grounded and helps me concentrate.

Things changed when I moved. I couldn't get any moringa tree around to pluck the leafs, and I just tried to forget about it.

My mind was off it totally when one day I mistakenly stumbled upon a thread on nairaland talking about the benefits of moringa, something I already knew. I was mistakenly going through the comments when someone said you can easily get it online or supermarket.

Supermarket? I mistakenly thought of it and decided to give it a try. It won't be fresh, but let me try it.

I mistakenly went to the supermarket and mistakenly asked for moringa. I was shown the section for tea and beverages and I mistakenly went there to look for it.

I didn't see moringa and I mistakenly looked well until I saw a packet written moringa.

I mistakenly picked it up, and saw that it was actually green tea and moringa. Instead of me to drop it, I mistakenly took it, thinking that the moringa covers for the green tea.

I haven't taken green tea, but I've heard of it. I mistakenly didn't consider the side effects, and I mistakenly bought the green tea disguised as moringa.

This was where my woes started. I mistakenly made the green tea moringa tea, and mistakenly drank it.

The taste was somehow, but not too bad. I felt alert and sharp, my memory clear and awesome.

I could remember things very clearly and my focus was sharp.

But I didn't know that I mistakenly started something that would have effect on me.

I wasn't looking forward to slimming down, I only wanted moringa tea to help me focus.

At first I felt clarity of mind and highly alert, but that was it. Any little thing, I quickly noticed and responded. Seems like I could hear ants walking, little details and sounds were very clear to me.

This was bad for me. The noise from moving cars, loud music, generator noise and noisy people around made it counter effective.

This wasn't the kind of clarity I wanted.

Actually want I needed was focus not total clarity. For me to be kinda numb to the world around and highly focused on things around me, the particular thing I'm attending to at the moment.

But I mistakenly took green moringa tea and it made me really light. My head was lighter than our current transparent black nylon.

Any little noise triggers me. I became restless and irritable.

    Night sleep? Gone

    Focus? Gone

    Steeze? Reduced drastically.

Instead of me to stop at first try, I mistakenly took the green moringa tea again, and again, until...

It now seems like all my flesh are gone and like they use spoon to scrape what's remaining, just like how I usually scrap off burnt rice from the bottom of delicious jollof rice back then.

What do I do? I don't want to mistakenly continue, I want my focus back.

    My steeze restored.

    My peaceful night sleep restored.

How do I counter this effect fast the natural way without substance that causes addiction?

  • ‘Older Generation Men’ Have Taken Over ADC Coalition – Aisha Cries Out

A Nigerian female activist, Aisha Yesufu has said that the African Democratic Congress, ADC, adopted by opposition figures on Wednesday, is full of the old generation.

Aisha, a staunch supporter of former presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, called on ADC to ensure that youths and women are included in the policymaking of the party.

In a post on her X handle, she wrote:
“Dear Coalition (ADC), women leader and youth leader positions cannot be what is reserved for women and youth.

“You see this table full of older generation men, cannot be the only ones allowed to make the decision as we go on! Women and youth must be in the midst of decision-making and not as afterthought in the form of tokenism.

“Dear women and youth, this is the time for the numbers. You have to be heard loud and clear. JOIN!

“Be part of the leadership! Be part of the delegates. Be part of floor members. Overwhelm for good! Bring in ideas from out of the box.”

  • The conflict between Iran and Israel is rooted in a combination of historical, political, ideological, and security factors. Here are some of the primary reasons for the tensions and hostilities between the two nations:

    1. Ideological Differences: Iran is an Islamic Republic with a theocratic regime that promotes a revolutionary ideology, opposing Western influence and what it perceives as imperialism in the region. Israel, on the other hand, is a democratic state with a Jewish identity, often seen by Iran as a symbol of Western imperialism and a primary adversary in the Middle East.

    2. Support for Opposing Groups: Iran has supported various militant groups that oppose Israel, such as Hezbollah in Lebanon and Hamas in Gaza. This support includes military training, funding, and weapons supplies, which Israel views as a direct threat to its security.

    3. Nuclear Program: Iran’s nuclear program has been a significant point of contention. Israel fears that if Iran develops nuclear weapons, it could pose an existential threat to the Jewish state. As a result, Israel has consistently opposed Iran's nuclear ambitions and has engaged in various efforts to sabotage the program, including cyber attacks.

    4. Regional Influence: Iran seeks to expand its influence across the Middle East, supporting proxy groups and forming alliances with countries like Syria and Iraq. This expansion is seen by Israel as a direct threat to its national security and a challenge to its dominance in the region.

    5. Historical Hostility: The establishment of Israel in 1948 and the subsequent Arab-Israeli conflicts have created a long-standing animosity in the region. Iran, particularly after the 1979 Islamic Revolution, shifted its foreign policy to support anti-Israel sentiments and movements, aligning itself with the Palestinian cause and other adversaries of Israel.

    6. Proxy Conflicts: The conflict between Iran and Israel often plays out through proxy wars in various countries, notably in Syria and Lebanon. Iran’s involvement in these conflicts, often supporting groups that attack Israel, creates an ongoing cycle of retaliation and violence.

    7. Military Engagements: Israel has conducted airstrikes against Iranian military targets in Syria, aiming to prevent the establishment of a permanent Iranian military presence near its borders. These military engagements further escalate tensions and contribute to the ongoing hostilities.

    8. International Alliances: The U.S.-Israel alliance plays a significant role in the conflict. Iran perceives the strong U.S. support for Israel as part of a broader strategy to contain Iranian influence in the region, heightening its animosity towards both countries.

In summary, the conflict between Iran and Israel is driven by a complex interplay of ideological, political, and security factors. The ongoing hostilities are characterized by proxy conflicts, military engagements, and deep-rooted animosities, making any resolution challenging.
