It's just like a watching an arrow

A man who find a love say I’d rather be with someone who loves me more than I love her. I’m 100% sure that my happiness is her priority and no more sleepless nights.

*TOPIC: WHAT DO YOU STAND TO GAIN?*(Series 4)

*Scripture Reading:* 1 Samuel 19:9-10

*"Then an evil spirit from the Lord came on Saul as he was sitting in his house with his spear in his hand, and David was playing the harp with his hand. Saul tried to pin David to the wall with the spear, but he escaped from Saul’s presence, so that Saul only stuck the spear into the wall. Then David fled and escaped that night."*(AMP)

From yesterday teaching, we could see what motivated David and at the same time Saul.

Let me show you briefly how we see that David was a man after God’s own heart, and Saul was a man of selfishness.

Lesson 1: David was motivated by a Love for God and Saul was motivated by what he could get from God. Just as majority of christian today whose love for God is base on what they will get from Him.

: Lets look at David first:

I Sam 18:10 says, *“The next day an evil spirit from God came forcefully upon Saul. He was prophesying in his house, while David was playing the harp, as he usually did. Saul had a spear in his hand and he hurled it, saying to himself, I’ll pin David to the wall. But David eluded him twice”* Now if that would not have been an intense moment in life, look at what happens further as we read:

I Sam 19:9-11 says, *“But an evil spirit from the Lord came upon Saul as he was sitting in his house with his spear in his hand. While David was playing the harp, Saul tried to pin him to the wall with his spear, but David eluded him as Saul drove the spear into the wall. That night David made good his escape.”* It was David’s desire to do the Lord’s will, and not his own. It was God’s will that David be where he was, playing for the King and not tending sheep.

*My question is, why would David still desire to go back to king Saul, knowing that there is that much tension in Saul’s house?* The love of God. Doing the will of God, loving your enemies and praying for those who spitefully use you. To be continue tomorrow morning by God's Grace. Good morning and do have a fruitful Friday, peace.

I gave the best of me to a man who eventually stopped seeing me. Conversations turned to silence. Respect turned to tension. And the home I tried so hard to build started to feel like a place I didn’t belong.

Walking away wasn’t easy. It wasn’t dramatic. It was silent, deliberate. I didn’t need to announce it, I just started choosing myself again.

I stopped posting “Chioma Akpotha” and went back to being “Chioma Chukwuka” not because I hate my past, but because I’m reclaiming my name, my peace, and my power.

I didn’t lose a marriage. I found myself.

*Scripture Reading:* 1 Samuel 18:8-9

*"Then Saul became very angry, for this saying displeased him; and he said, “They have ascribed to David ten thousands, but to me they have ascribed [only] thousands. Now what more can he have but the kingdom?” Saul looked at David with suspicion [and jealously] from that day forward."*(AMP)

Continuation from where we stopped yesterday:

We will be observing David and Saul as our case study today. The truth is, something must motivate a man. So the question is WHAT MOTIVATES YOU IN TAKING THAT DECISION?

*What kept David and Saul going, every day?*

*What made David weep for a man that was pursuing to kill him?*

*And what made Saul pursue David and want his head at all cost?*

These are the questions we are going to be looking at. Two different people, with different reasons for getting up in the morning. Believe me, you and I are in one of these two categories this morning.

So, from the above scripture, I Samuel, starting at chapter 18 right through to II Samuel 1 and see what motivated David and Saul in their pursue of destiny.

David Was Motivated By Love And Saul By Selfishness. *Truly, someone whose love is genuine, such will be committed to much sacrifices, patient, tolerance, perseverance, selflessness act, etc. And that's the attributes that manifested in David's life. But to a selfish person, the lives of others make no meaning to them. They're ready to do anything just to achieve their self-centered evil desires, not minding if it affects others precious destiny. And that's exactly what we saw in Saul's life.* WHAT MOTIVATE YOU AND WHAT DO YOU STAND TO GAIN? To be continue tomorrow morning by God's Grace. Good morning and do have a great day, peace.
