“I didn’t leave my husband because I stopped loving him. I left because I was starting to forget how to love myself. People assume divôrce means failure. No! sometimes, it’s survival. For years, I kept quiet, smiling for the camera, wearing my ring like everything was okay. But behind the scenes, I was disappearing, emotionally, mentally. I gave the best of me to a man who eventually stopped seeing me. Conversations turned to silence. Respect turned to tension. And the home I tried so hard to build started to feel like a place I didn’t belong. Walking away wasn’t easy. It wasn’t dramatic. It was silent, deliberate. I didn’t need to announce it, I just started choosing myself again. I stopped posting “Chioma Akpotha” and went back to being “Chioma Chukwuka” not because I hate my past, but because I’m reclaiming my name, my peace, and my power. I didn’t lose a marriage. I found myself. -- Chioma Chukwuka

*TOPIC: WHAT DO YOU STAND TO GAIN?*(Series 3) *Scripture Reading:* 1 Samuel 18:8-9 *"Then Saul became very angry, for this saying displeased him; and he said, “They have ascribed to David ten thousands, but to me they have ascribed [only] thousands. Now what more can he have but the kingdom?” Saul looked at David with suspicion [and jealously] from that day forward."*(AMP) Continuation from where we stopped yesterday: We will be observing David and Saul as our case study today. The truth is, something must motivate a man. So the question is WHAT MOTIVATES YOU IN TAKING THAT DECISION? *What kept David and Saul going, every day?* *What made David weep for a man that was pursuing to kill him?* *And what made Saul pursue David and want his head at all cost?* These are the questions we are going to be looking at. Two different people, with different reasons for getting up in the morning. Believe me, you and I are in one of these two categories this morning. So, from the above scripture, I Samuel, starting at chapter 18 right through to II Samuel 1 and see what motivated David and Saul in their pursue of destiny. David Was Motivated By Love And Saul By Selfishness. *Truly, someone whose love is genuine, such will be committed to much sacrifices, patient, tolerance, perseverance, selflessness act, etc. And that's the attributes that manifested in David's life. But to a selfish person, the lives of others make no meaning to them. They're ready to do anything just to achieve their self-centered evil desires, not minding if it affects others precious destiny. And that's exactly what we saw in Saul's life.* WHAT MOTIVATE YOU AND WHAT DO YOU STAND TO GAIN? To be continue tomorrow morning by God's Grace. Good morning and do have a great day, peace. *Prayer point:* Dear Lord, take away my purpose and give me your purpose that will motivate me in doing your will in Jesus Christ name. Amen! T.S. EFCC Takes Anti-corruption Campaign to School Children in Ilorin The Ilorin Zonal Directorate Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Monday, July 7, 2025, took its anti-corruption campaign to the pupils of Lightway Nursery and Primary School, Tanke, Ilorin, Kwara State. Ayodele Babatunde, Head, Public Affairs Department, Ilorin Directorate of the EFCC, who enlightened the pupils at the event, spoke to them on the meaning of corruption, its different shades, harmful effects and how everyone, including children, can contribute to building a corruption-free Nigeria. "Corruption is simply doing the wrong thing, especially when it affects others or the country. It includes vices such as cheating, lying and stealing, he said. He noted that children have a role to play in shaping a better future even at their young age. "You can avoid corruption by always telling the truth, doing your homework without copying from others, refusing to steal or cheat, observing honesty, discipline, integrity, and patriotism and respecting rules at home and in school,” he said. Babatunde further encouraged the pupils to ensure that they grow up as good citizens who love their country and reject acts that can harm its development. The interaction featured questions from the pupils and a pledge from them to become anti-corruption ambassadors in their school and homes. The outreach is part of the EFCC’s strategy to instill a culture of integrity and accountability in children pursuant to the Commission’s anti-corruption prevention mandate through sensitization and advocacy.
