  • The Coalition of Ambition: Why 2027 Might Still Belong to Tinubu

In 2023, the Nigerian opposition had a golden opportunity to defeat the APC at the polls, but they squandered it. Why? Two words: personal ambition.

Peter Obi’s defection from the PDP to Labour Party weeks before the election was the final nail in PDP’s coffin. By pulling a significant portion of southern youth and Christian votes, Obi effectively split the opposition vote and handed the victory to Bola Ahmed Tinubu. The numbers don’t lie; combine Obi and Atiku’s votes, and the story could have been different.

To be candid, Atiku and Obi have been inconsistent in their political journeys. Atiku has moved from PDP to ACN to APC and back to PDP, while Obi moved from APGA to PDP, and then to LP. While it is not wrong to change parties, when the motivation is clearly personal ambition, not ideology or vision, the public eventually notices. These men are chasing the presidency like a game of musical chairs—jumping from one party to another, hoping one finally puts them in Aso Rock.

Now, they want to form a coalition, ADC, LP, PDP, NNPP, etc. but it’s already looking like a house built on sand. Atiku still wants to be president. Obi believes he is the people’s choice and feels entitled to the presidency. Rabiu Kwankwaso wants his turn too. What happens when all of them sit at the table and no one is willing to give up their ambition?

Meanwhile, Bola Ahmed Tinubu has demonstrated what it means to play the long game in Nigerian politics. Love him or hate him, the man is a seasoned political strategist. He didn’t just wake up and become president. He spent over two decades building structures, making allies, empowering political foot soldiers from the ward level to the national assembly. He played kingmaker for years and waited for the right moment to strike.

While the others were fighting over who should get the ticket, Tinubu was working the system, understanding the real dynamics of Nigerian politics: grassroots mobilization, structure, patience, and strategic loyalty.

And let’s not forget: after the 2023 election, Peter Obi virtually went silent. The so-called “Obidient” movement lost momentum. No serious political meetings. No town hall forums. No grassroots development. The Labour Party became just another platform, not a movement. You don’t build a national political machine by trending on social media.

Now, as 2027 approaches, the same characters are trying to merge forces, yet no clear structure, no shared ideology, no defined candidate. Just ambition floating on ego.

If we’re being objective, Tinubu stands a real chance of winning again in 2027, and here’s why:

    1. Structure: APC still has the widest political structure in Nigeria, from ward to federal level.

    2. Incumbency Power: Whether you like it or not, the party in power controls more levers of influence.

    3. Disunited Opposition: Unless the opposition agrees on a single candidate and strategy early, they will split the votes again.

    4. Time: No politician can build what Tinubu built in just two years. His patience, long-term vision, and networking across Nigeria are unmatched.

In conclusion, politics in Nigeria is not a sprint—it’s a marathon. Tinubu understood that. Atiku and Obi did not. And unless the so-called coalition can put aside ego, agree on one credible candidate, and start building structure from now, 2027 might just be another smooth ride for BAT if care is not taken.

Well, I dey wait for who go gree for who Sha.

As a major global supplier of copper and cobalt, with substantial reserves of gold, tin, and coltan, one would expect these resources to have generated widespread prosperity for its citizens. However, the DRC's resources are often tied to corruption, conflict, and the "resource curse," where resource wealth worsens development challenges. The Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) is a major global supplier of minerals, including cobalt, copper, diamonds, gold, tantalum, and tin. The country's mining industry is a significant sector of its economy, with mineral exports accounting for over 95% of its export revenues. Mining activities range from large-scale industrial projects to smaller artisanal and small-scale mining (ASM) operations. But why hasn't the DRC become one of the richest and most developed nations worldwide despite its vast resources?

  • Police in Ashanti Region of Ghana has arrested 5 Nigerians for attack and robbery of bank customers

Regional Police Commander, DCOP Emmanuel Teye Cudjoe, says the suspects follow their victims after they withdraw large sums of money from financial institutions. They then break into their vehicles to rob.

Their operations have been going on for the past month.

Two suspects were identified from police intelligence gathering, supported by footage from the intelligence video surveillance (IVS) system monitored at the police emergency command centre.

A gold-coloured Toyota Highlander with registration number GT 2471-14 and a black Toyota Highlander with registration number GX 7124-12 were confirmed to be used for the robbery. Both vehicles were found to bear fake licence plates.

According to the police commander, on Thursday, 19th June, 2025, around 10 am, the police successfully arrested three other suspects; Russell Ekenze, 29 years, a taxi driver, Francis Friday, 49 years, and Linus Agwazie, a 51-year-old trader.

DCOP Teye Cudjoe, in his press briefing, said that during their interrogation, the suspects confessed to being part of a large criminal syndicate.

They also named other members of the syndicate as Cosmas Maduabuchukwu, Ezuchukwu, C.J , DD and Lele,"

He added that Cosmas Maduabuchukwu sustained gunshot wounds during an attempted arrest but managed to flee.

Six suspects are currently in police custody and the two vehicles used by the syndicate have been impounded. A manhunt is underway to arrest Cosmos Maduabuchukwu and other accomplices still at large.

“Preliminary findings indicate that all members of the syndicate are Nigerian nationals with the exception of DD, who is a Ghanaian and they have been arraigned before the court for lawful remand,” said the police.

The police command has assured the public of its commitment to ensure the safety and security of all residents in the region

  • TRAORE BLACKLISTS ALL PRESIDENTS WHO ARE GIVING TAX BREAKS IN AFRICA

Africa's young and pioneering President Ibrahim Traore of Burkina Faso has within three years of being in power earned $18 billion from gold sales since he took over power. Traore recently rejected an IMF package and paid off all debt owed by his country. Within three years of being President, Traore has tarred over 5,000 kilometers of roads in his country, something never seen before.

However, Traore says he is very furious to note that there are some Presidents within Africa who are busy giving away minerals through senseless tax breaks to investors. The Burkina Faso President says such is an act of thieving and he will not entertain such leaders anywhere. Traore promises not to welcome such Presidents into his country because he considers them a disgrace to humanity.

  • Russia has signed new agreements to strengthen trade and economic relations with Mali, as President Vladimir Putin hosted the West African country’s military leader, Colonel Assimi Goita, in Moscow on Monday.

The two leaders met at the Kremlin for a two-hour discussion, according to Russian state media.

Putin described the relationship between Russia and Mali as following a “positive trajectory,” though he acknowledged that current trade volumes remain modest, Reuters reported.

He emphasized potential areas for deeper cooperation, including geological exploration, natural resource development, energy, logistics, and humanitarian efforts.

One of the key deals signed was focused on nuclear energy cooperation. The two countries have previously discussed a strategic plan to build a Russian-designed low-power nuclear plant in Mali.

The junta-led country is following a similar path to Burkina Faso, having taken a major step toward embracing nuclear energy by officially signing the final administrative document of a historic intergovernmental agreement with Russia last week.

This landmark deal represents a significant milestone in Mali’s efforts to diversify its energy sources and tackle the country’s growing electricity needs, as it seeks long-term solutions to power shortages and boost national development.

    Russia’s expanding footprint in Africa
Earlier this month, construction also began on a new Russian-backed gold refinery in Mali. Set to be constructed on a five-hectare site near Bamako’s international airport, the refinery will have the capacity to process up to 200 metric tons of gold annually, a significant leap from Mali’s current processing capacity of about 50 tons.

Though Mali is one of Africa’s largest gold producers, it currently lacks a fully functional and globally certified refinery.

The country’s two existing facilities have been unable to meet the standards required by global bodies like the London Bullion Market Association (LBMA), forcing miners to refine their gold abroad. The new refinery will produce gold with a purity of 99.5%, adhering to international certification standards.

  • *TOPIC: BELIEVING GOD FOR THE MIRACULOUS.*(Series 2)

    *Scripture Reading:* 2 King 7:1-2

*"Then Elisha said, “Hear the word of the Lord. Thus says the Lord, ‘Tomorrow about this time a measure of finely-milled flour will sell for a shekel, and two measures of barley for a shekel, at the gate of Samaria." Then the royal officer on whose arm the king leaned answered the man of God and said, “If the Lord should make windows in heaven [for the rain], could this thing take place?” Elisha said, “Behold, you will see it with your own eyes, but [because you doubt] you will not eat of it.”*(AMP)

Continuation from where I stopped yesterday. Out of the four types of Miracles named yesterday, I want to focus more on the provisional aspect. We found the account in 2 Kings 6 of when the Syrians had surrounded Samaria and cut off all its supplies, the people of the city were starving to death to a level of eating their children one after another. *In the midst of this crisis, Elisha said by the Spirit of God, "Tomorrow at this time, you can find anything you want."* In a miraculous act of provision, God used four lepers to plunder the enemy's camp and take everything they needed - silver, gold, food and clothing and the news spread to the town.

Jesus also began and ended His ministry on the earth with provisional miracles. At the wedding feast in Cana, He turned water into wine(John 2:1-11). Multiplying the loaves and the fish was a provisional miracle(Matthew 14:15-20). Jesus' last provision miracle before His ascension took place after He arose from the dead.

He was on the shore, watching Peter and some others fishing, when he called out to Peter, "Throw your net out the other side." When Peter did as he was told, his net caught enough fish(John 21:1-12). Divine intervention prospered Peter's business tremendously, causing him to recognize the Lord immediately.

I discovered that God always performs provisional miracles first, before He performs the physical miracles even right from Genesis. He always make a provision for His children at all time. And that's the reason why you will not end this year in shame because the Lord Jesus will make a way for you out of no way in Jesus Christ name. Amen! To be continue tomorrow morning by God's Grace. Good morning and do have a great day, peace.

*Prayer point:* Oh God of provisional Miracles, visit me and turn the situation around to favor me even at this present situation in Jesus Christ name. Amen!
