Ghana to irrigate 2 million hectares of land for agriculture

The Feed Ghana Programme focuses on:
- Modernizing agriculture: Boosting food production, reducing imports, and creating jobs
- Key interventions:
- Promotion of Smart Agriculture: Establishing Farmer Service Centers nationwide for equipment, quality materials, money, market connections, and training
- Grains and Legumes Development Project: Scaling up maize, rice, soybean, and sorghum production for local consumption, agro-processing, and export
- Vegetable Development Project: Promoting controlled environment farming using greenhouse technology and urban agriculture to reduce vegetable imports
- Farm banks or land banks: Creating designated irrigable zones to support young agricultural entrepreneurs
