Khorramabad, the capital of Lorestan province, had not previously been identified as a primary target in the ongoing Iran-Israel conflict, which erupted on June 13, 2025. The strike on Khorramabad represents a geographic expansion of Israeli targeting, reaching further into Iran’s western provinces. Iranian state media said the fatalities were IRGC personnel, though no official names or ranks have been released as of yet.
