NNPC Ltd Donates 35 CNG Buses to Presidential Initiative on CNG
...Restates Commitment to Cleaner, Sustainable Fuel Alternative

The NNPC Ltd. has handed over thirty-five (35) hybrid Compressed Natural Gas (CNG)-powered buses to the Presidential Initiative on Compressed Natural Gas (Pi-CNG).

During a brief ceremony held at the NNPC Towers on Monday, the Group CEO, NNPC Ltd., Engr. Bashir Bayo Ojulari reiterated the Company’s commitment to support the Federal Government’s gas aspirations.

The GCEO, who stated that the move was in line with NNPC Ltd.’s efforts to drive the adoption of CNG as a cleaner, cheaper and sustainable fuel alternative, added that the Company has recorded significant progress on gas supply, infrastructure, distribution and retail outlets.

“I am proud that NNPC Ltd is playing a pivotal role in driving the Federal Government’s gas agenda towards energy transition,” the GCEO stated.

Earlier in his address, the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Gas), Rt. Hon. Ekperikpe Ekpo said the CNG buses represent not just vehicles but serve as instruments of economic relief, social equity, and environmental responsibility.

“They signal a future where the ordinary Nigerian can commute safely, affordably, and efficiently,” he added.

The Minister described the initiative as a direct reflection of President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, a bold step to reduce the cost of transportation, lessen dependence on petrol, and ensure the utilisation of the Nation’s abundant natural gas resources for the benefit of the people.

Earlier in his remarks, the Executive Vice President, Downstream, NNPC Ltd., Mr. Mumuni Dagazau said the adoption of CNG as a fuel alternative has significant economic benefits for the Nation by reducing reliance on PMS and AGO as automotive fuels which also leads to substantial cost savings and supports the growth of local gas industry.

Also in his remarks, the Executive Vice President, Gas, Power & New Energy, Mr. Olalekan Ogunleye, said that as the CNG commercialisation drive continues to gather momentum, NNPC Ltd. will be there to lead the way.

In her remarks, the Managing Director of NNPC Foundation, Mrs. Emmanuella Arukwe, said through the initiative, NNPC Ltd. was advancing and shaping a new energy future that will purposefully serve people, communities, and the planet.

The Programme Coordinator/CEO, Presidential CNG Initiative, Mr. Michael Oluwagbemi, commended NNPC Ltd. for supporting the Initiative, stressing that the Company has been a reliable partner for the Initiative since its commencement.

  • If Your People Are Dying, President Should Be Ready To Die — Peter Obi

Presidential hopeful Peter Obi says being Nigerian president is a responsibility that should engender compassion and not nonchalance.

Obi, who was a guest on Sunday Politics programme, believes that a president should be ready to pay the supreme price if his or her people are dying.

“If I become president, I will use resources effectively. I cannot say: ‘buy a new jet’,” Obi said whilst accusing the Bola Tinubu administration of being unfeeling to the plight of the people.

“I don’t need one because I can go anywhere without a jet. I will not use ₦150bn to buy a jet when 80% of primary healthcare centres are not functioning.

“I was a governor, and for my first four years, I drove 406. For the rest of it, I didn’t drive bulletproof cars. Nobody will try to kill you if you do the right thing. It is when you do the wrong thing that you fear death.

“If your people are dying, you should be ready to die. The president should also be ready to die,” he said.

The former Anambra State governor accused President Bola Tinubu of being unfeeling to the plight of Nigerians. He said Tinubu chose to go on Christmas holiday in Lagos in December 2024 instead of visiting Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, where several children died in a stampede at a Christmas party.

”There is no compassion; people lost their children who will lead this country in the future, and he went on a Christmas holiday.”

Obi also criticised Tinubu over the attack in Benue State, saying he went to Benue but failed to reach Yelwata, where suspected herdsmen killed scores and displaced thousands of people. Tinubu had explained that bad roads and floods prevented him from visiting the distressed community.

  • Peter Obi ‘reduced to Amaechi’s level’, now Commander-in-Chief of lies – Presidency

President Bola Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Policy Communication, Daniel Bwala, on Monday described former Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi as the “Commander-In-Chief of misinformation and falsehood”.

Bwala spoke while reacting to Obi’s remark that Tinubu has borrowed more than former Presidents Olusegun Obasanjo, Musa Yar’Adua, Goodluck Jonathan, and Muhammadu Buhari.

Posting on X, Bwala wrote: “Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you the commander in chief of misinformation, disinformation and falsehood; Peter “Gbajue” Obi.

“The Gbajue movement have found a new hero called “grok” but sadly, each time they asked grok for comments about me, they got what they never wanted to hear.

“We are focused on substantive issues raised by Gbajue and are on high alert to take down falsehood and disinformation.

“They said we are having sleepless nights yet we are only reacting to Gbajue’s obsession about our president and our government.

“In fact, why wasting our time with someone that has been downgraded and relegated to a second fiddle and is now left to struggle for that position with Rotimi Amaechi?”

  • "You wouldn’t be President if Jonathan had crushed opposition."
~ADC Interim National Publicity Secretary and National Coalition Spokesperson, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi.

“The President needs to prove that he is truly a democrat. He must remind his men that if the Goodluck Jonathan administration had behaved this way, the APC would never have come to power in 2015, and he would not be President today”.

Former State Chairmen and key executive members of the ADC from the North East and North West zones were invited to a secret meeting with top federal officials.

“We have credible intelligence that this meeting is not for national security or peacebuilding.
“Its goal is to intimidate, coerce, and possibly recruit these individuals into a scheme aimed at undermining the opposition. This is not politics. This is sabotage.”

The motive is to create division within its ranks, delegitimise its new leadership, and derail its emergence as a credible alternative to the ruling party.

Attempts to woo or pressure party officials in the name of political engagement are nothing short of a “coordinated assault on Nigeria’s democracy.”

“This is how one-party states are born, through fear, coercion, and manipulation. It is now obvious that the Tinubu administration, having lost public trust, is unable to face a united and credible opposition. Instead of addressing the country’s challenges, it has returned to the old playbook of destabilising rivals.

The ruling party’s tactics were pushing Nigeria toward dangerous political terrain, and we vow to resist what it a desperate bid to silence opposition voices.

“This party belongs to every Nigerian who is tired of the lies, the hardship, and the manipulation. We will not allow a few desperate men to take the country backward. We will resist them through every democratic means available."

  • The Coalition of Ambition: Why 2027 Might Still Belong to Tinubu

In 2023, the Nigerian opposition had a golden opportunity to defeat the APC at the polls, but they squandered it. Why? Two words: personal ambition.

Peter Obi’s defection from the PDP to Labour Party weeks before the election was the final nail in PDP’s coffin. By pulling a significant portion of southern youth and Christian votes, Obi effectively split the opposition vote and handed the victory to Bola Ahmed Tinubu. The numbers don’t lie; combine Obi and Atiku’s votes, and the story could have been different.

To be candid, Atiku and Obi have been inconsistent in their political journeys. Atiku has moved from PDP to ACN to APC and back to PDP, while Obi moved from APGA to PDP, and then to LP. While it is not wrong to change parties, when the motivation is clearly personal ambition, not ideology or vision, the public eventually notices. These men are chasing the presidency like a game of musical chairs—jumping from one party to another, hoping one finally puts them in Aso Rock.

Now, they want to form a coalition, ADC, LP, PDP, NNPP, etc. but it’s already looking like a house built on sand. Atiku still wants to be president. Obi believes he is the people’s choice and feels entitled to the presidency. Rabiu Kwankwaso wants his turn too. What happens when all of them sit at the table and no one is willing to give up their ambition?

Meanwhile, Bola Ahmed Tinubu has demonstrated what it means to play the long game in Nigerian politics. Love him or hate him, the man is a seasoned political strategist. He didn’t just wake up and become president. He spent over two decades building structures, making allies, empowering political foot soldiers from the ward level to the national assembly. He played kingmaker for years and waited for the right moment to strike.

While the others were fighting over who should get the ticket, Tinubu was working the system, understanding the real dynamics of Nigerian politics: grassroots mobilization, structure, patience, and strategic loyalty.

And let’s not forget: after the 2023 election, Peter Obi virtually went silent. The so-called “Obidient” movement lost momentum. No serious political meetings. No town hall forums. No grassroots development. The Labour Party became just another platform, not a movement. You don’t build a national political machine by trending on social media.

Now, as 2027 approaches, the same characters are trying to merge forces, yet no clear structure, no shared ideology, no defined candidate. Just ambition floating on ego.

If we’re being objective, Tinubu stands a real chance of winning again in 2027, and here’s why:

    1. Structure: APC still has the widest political structure in Nigeria, from ward to federal level.

    2. Incumbency Power: Whether you like it or not, the party in power controls more levers of influence.

    3. Disunited Opposition: Unless the opposition agrees on a single candidate and strategy early, they will split the votes again.

    4. Time: No politician can build what Tinubu built in just two years. His patience, long-term vision, and networking across Nigeria are unmatched.

In conclusion, politics in Nigeria is not a sprint—it’s a marathon. Tinubu understood that. Atiku and Obi did not. And unless the so-called coalition can put aside ego, agree on one credible candidate, and start building structure from now, 2027 might just be another smooth ride for BAT if care is not taken.

Well, I dey wait for who go gree for who Sha.

  • PETER OBI SPEAKS

I will ensure those who are stealing our oil stops. Today, every president wants to be the Petroleum Minister. I will not. As a matter of fact, I want to be the Minister of Security. I want to secure the nation.

I am involved in the coalition and I attend all the meetings except when I am not in the country. The coalition for now is not talking about who will be what. I am there for the benefit of the country.

Those who refuse to count our votes in 2027, we will force them to count the votes.

I went to the 90th birthday of the Vanguard publisher. There, I met Bayo Onanuga. If I see him on the road, I won’t even recognize him.

Being friendly or laughing with people doesn’t have anything to do with the law…if you do anything to face the law, you face it.

I will bring peace and stability all over Nigeria. I'll serve with the opposition, I will work with them. I want a Nigeria that works.

I will not go to St Lucia for holiday with the level of insecurity in Nigeria. I will rather go to holiday in Maiduguri and work to stop the bloodshed. I will not go to holiday when Nigeria is at war.

Wherever there was an issue in Anambra State, I was there physically. Anybody who wants to serve should be ready to put even their life on the line for the lives of Nigerians.

To bring order in governance, I will priotize security, education and pulling people out of poverty. To do this, is by cutting the cost of governance and fighting corruption from day one.

People are dying in Benue , Borno, [and other parts of the country] and our leaders are commissioning Bus Stops.

Nobody abroad takes you seriously if you don't have a stable government.

We will not be violent and will ensure that every vote in each polling unit counts in 2027.

If the coalition is not about stopping the killings in Benue, Zamfara, how to revive our economy, how to make our industries productive, how to put food on the tables of Nigerians… Count me out!.

In 2 years, Tinubu has not spent one night in any state in Nigeria apart from Lagos, yet he is going to spend 8 nights in St Lucia, a place smaller than Ajegunle.

Water Ministry Partners Nestlé Nigeria on Advancement of Water Quality Management in Nigeria.

In a move to promote safe and sustainable water practices, the Federal Ministry of Water Resources and Sanitation (FMWRS) has announced a collaborative partnership with Nestlé Nigeria to drive nationwide Water Quality Management Campaigns. This initiative supports the goals of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda in the water sector.

This commitment was made by the Honourable Minister of Water Resources and Sanitation, Engr. Prof. Joseph Terlumun Utsev, during a courtesy visit by the management of Nestlé Nigeria and members of the Organized Private Sector in Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (OPS-WASH) led by Nestlé Corporate Communications, Public Affairs, and Sustainability Lead, Victoria Uwadoka to his office today in Abuja.

The Minister emphasized that efficient water resource management is essential for minimizing public health threats such as cholera and diarrhea, while also helping to mitigate the adverse impacts of flooding. He assured the Ministry’s full support for Nestlé’s campaign and pledged timely collaboration to deliver impactful results.

“The Ministry is committed to working with Nestlé Nigeria to improve water quality across the country. This partnership is in line with our mission to ensure safe water access and support the health and wellbeing of all Nigerians,” Prof. Utsev said.

In his remarks, the Permanent Secretary of FMWRS, Mr. Richard Pheelangwah, applauded Nestlé’s presentation on water quality improvement and pledged the Ministry’s full support for the initiative.

Speaking on behalf of Nestlé Nigeria, Victoria Uwadoka, Corporate Communications, Public Affairs, and Sustainability Lead, stressed the urgency of bridging the knowledge gap around water quality.

“Not all clear water is clean. Poor water quality continues to affect health and increase the prevalence of waterborne diseases. Through our National Water Quality Advocacy Campaign, we aim to raise awareness, educate communities, engage stakeholders, and drive sustainable action,” Uwadoka said.

She further added that the campaign is built on three key pillars: Raising Awareness and Educating, Engaging Stakeholders, and Driving Sustainable Actions.

Providing further insight into the project, Dr. Nicholas Igwe, National Coordinator of OPS-WASH, highlighted that this collaboration goes beyond traditional Corporate Social Responsibility.

“This initiative is focused on long-term water rehabilitation. In Abaji Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), 16 communities will benefit, while 8 communities in Agbara, Ogun State, are also set to receive support. Additionally, two farming communities in Abaji and Agbara will benefit from the introduction of water harvesting systems for irrigation,” Dr. Igwe noted.

The Director of Water Quality Control and Sanitation at the Federal Ministry of Water Resources and Sanitation, Mrs. Elizabeth Ugoh, noted that the ongoing baseline report on water quality and its parameters will significantly strengthen the water quality collaboration with Nestlé Nigeria.

In attendance were some Directors of the Ministry including Director, Water Supply, Mr. Babarinde Segun Mukaila, Director Planning and Technical Support Services, Engr. Adeyinka Adenopo, Directors 11 & 111 of the Department of Water Quality Control and Sanitation, Habu Jamilu, mni and Ibiyemi Olu-Daniels, and Director Special Duties, Chucks Mbaike, respectively

  • BREAKING!
Peter Obi Is Your Next President

    By Igho David

Peter Obi has officially submitted his application to the new coalition as a one term President. That one term is enough to change Nigeria.

I once stated it in the first week of June that Mr. Peter Obi will go for one term and the North trust him enough to keep to his word.

Peter Obi is your next president. You can take it to the bank.

The entire South South and South East governors and lawmakers from these regions that ran to APC last month will work for the emergence of Peter Obi as president because he is from the South and they are now at peace because the North has kept to the zoning agreement.

Atiku Abubakar made this huge sacrifice. He is not running for the presidency come 2027 and you can take it to the bank.

Peter Obi is the best and only candidate that will easily defeat Tinubu with the Northern support from Atiku Abubakar, Nasir El-Rufai , Sen David Mark , Sule Lamido , The AREWA Elders.

Ahmed Datti will have to make Obi sacrifice him for Atiku and Buhari to hand pick Obi's VP. He will either be Obi's Minister of Justice and Attorney General or Chief of Staff
