Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrives in Ghana today for talks with President John Mahama. He's the first leader of the subcontinent to travel to the country in West Africa in 30 years.

Modi is also expected to address Ghana's parliament. Ahead of his departure, Modi said the two-day trip was aimed at deepening cooperation in investment, energy, health, security and building partnerships. Ghana is the first leg of a five-nation tour that will take Modi to Trinidad and Tobago , Argentina , Brazil and Namibia too.

This strategic initiative is designed to guide smart land use, infrastructure development, and sustainable urban growth, ensuring that housing, roads, and essential services are effectively placed to serve both people and the environment.

To support the successful implementation of these plans, UN-Habitat has provided 10 vehicles and essential equipment to empower local development teams across the regions.
