Seriously, what kind of twisted reality are we living in when the media hails this as a major achievement? Manipulating water surfaces with tiny printed spikes? It's not even remotely groundbreaking; it’s just a gimmick wrapped in scientific jargon!

Let’s get straight to the point: we have pressing issues facing our planet, yet here we are, wasting resources and brainpower on creating artistic illusions that serve no practical purpose. The world is drowning in pollution, climate change threatens our very existence, and these "brilliant minds" are busy playing with water like it’s a toy. What’s next? A 3D-printed ocean that does nothing but look good on Instagram? When are we going to stop celebrating such frivolity and start focusing on innovations that truly matter?

The so-called collaboration with Brown University only adds to the ridiculousness of this whole endeavor. Instead of pooling resources to tackle real-world problems, they choose to chase after fantasies that will likely never see the light of day in any meaningful application. The true genius should lie in sustainable technology that can clean our oceans, provide clean water to those in need, or combat climate change—not in crafting ephemeral landscapes that will fade away and leave no trace.

The irony of this situation is infuriating. While these physicists revel in their success, countless communities are suffering due to water scarcity and contamination. Where is the urgency to address these pressing concerns? The scientific community should be ashamed, and we as a society should demand better from our brightest minds. Instead of creating illusions, how about innovating technologies that can actually save lives?

Let’s be real: this isn’t a scientific breakthrough; it’s a distraction from the real issues at hand. We need to hold our scientists accountable and push them to focus their talents on solving the problems that will impact our future. Enough with the liquid landscapes and 3D-printed fantasies. But why take church to court???? Why? SDA come here quickly...house cleaning....

Afrika needs liberation from religious fanatics who are irrelevant to the issues in the society. The church is not an island working in isolation from society. What affects the country affects the church and as such the church must be an agent of change to repair the social ills. It's very unfortunate to witness the church being part of the problem in the courtrooms. The recent legal development in (Seventh day Adventist Church) in Zimbabwe is a shame as opposition politicians seek to twist the arm of law under the guise of religious freedom.

Politicians are community leaders and when they are invited to the church pulpits they represent the arms of the state and its political identity. By nature opposition politics in Zimbabwe has lost its identity as it feeds on negative energy...rather they be alternative parties which must see the good and encourage the sitting government to deliver on their mandate. We build strong governments when we hold them accountable to their public office as civil servants... The political arm and the religious structure are all servicing the same nation, childish lawsuits charged with religious hypocrisy.

"Mr. Sanyatwe, who briefly spoke from the pulpit after being invited by Mr. Kudakwashe Tagwirei. Advocate Thabani Mpofu, purporting to represent a concerned member of the church, has released a strongly worded letter accusing the church’s leadership of desecration, political co-optation, and gross negligence. However, upon objective scrutiny, these allegations are not only misplaced but appear to be driven by partisan motivations disguised as spiritual concern" (Maverick).

The concerned member has lost touch with reality and his intoxication with "Adventism" and its "purity" neglects the "occupy till I come... He forgets David...a politician... Abraham had a private army.. Daniel a Minister with three brothers.. Hannaniah, Azariah, and Mishael, Ezra, Nehemiah even worked as a cupbearer to the Persian king.

"Select only strong, healthy, and good-looking young men,” he said. “Make sure they are well versed in every branch of learning, are gifted with knowledge and good judgment, and are suited to serve in the royal palace. Train these young men in the language and literature of Babylon."
"5 The king assigned them a daily ration of food and wine from his own kitchens. They were to be trained for three years, and then they would enter the royal service." Daniel 1:4-5

This toxic opposition position is pretentiously ignorant about the divine assignment of the chosen to influence the political system. If the church produces the best Godly people why should they be prohibited from assuming political power? I want you to "be heads and not tails" only those who teach the politics of the tails and what comes out under the tail would consume such content.

Contrary the head has the eyes, the ears, the horns, the mouth of a nation. It is a divine assignment to be of service in the corridors of power. I suggest that opposition parties move away from tail politics to the head politics, to think and speak truth to power.
President ED Mnangagwa has contributed immensely to the SDA in cash and in support. The church enjoys a cordial relationship with government and direct financial/facility donations. The very people claiming "sacred pulpit politics" have seen breaking the holy sabbath for their political meetings and functions.
The Church has channels of communication and no individual member can subvesiviky run an opposition political mobilisation to churches. It is the role of the Union to write to the conference and the conference to the church concerned. Intact the Union should write a letter distancing themselves from this malicious act.
Our very learned Advocate Thabani Mpofu used to go with Nelson to Zunde and church services advertising/campaigning for election, what has changed now? . What was the response from the church. Who wrote letters complaining that the church had been desecrated? .

Can the list of all SDA members who attended the book launch of Sakhala on Sabbath be made available? Why such double standards and two forked tongues claim righteousness while they desecrated the same institution . The real question is "how much of the church is influenced/controlled by opposition parties and how much contribution and control does opposition have in the SDA in Zimbabwe? Personally I think the letter was not fair, and the lawsuit is misplaced zeal and the intentions are that of political ambitions above decorum concerns.

Instead of teaching people to shout about their achievements from the rooftops, how about we encourage humility and the pursuit of genuine excellence? It’s infuriating to see the glorification of self-promotion over real, measurable success.

Let’s not fall into this trap of believing that personal branding is the answer to our problems. It’s a distraction at best and a harmful delusion at worst. If we continue to chase this illusory ideal, we’ll lose sight of what really matters – building real relationships, honing our skills, and being authentic in a world that seems hell-bent on promoting the artificial.

Are you truly offering value, or are you just another cog in this soulless machine that promotes superficiality and false impressions? It is absolutely infuriating to witness the sheer audacity of leaders like Fubara, who stand before their supporters and preach acceptance of a bitter reality while they reconcile with figures like Wike. How can we, as a society, accept such blatant hypocrisy? This isn’t just about two politicians patching things up; this is about the betrayal of the very people who put them in power. The message is clear: personal agendas and political maneuvering take precedence over the needs and desires of the constituents they claim to represent.

Fubara's recent comments, “It is bitter but we must accept the situation and move on with it,” are nothing but a slap in the face to anyone who dares to care about integrity and honesty in politics. How can we move on when the foundations of our leadership are built on shifting sands of compromise and backdoor deals? It’s time for us to stop turning a blind eye to this nonsense! The recent conference titled “Les goûts et les couleurs” is a perfect example of how our society is spiraling into an abyss of superficiality and pretentiousness. This event, supposedly a fusion of design and sensory exploration, is nothing more than a glorified display of elitism wrapped in artistic jargon. What a joke!

Let’s break it down. We have Mathieu Hébert, a so-called researcher in optics, making grand claims about light and perception, while the rest of us are struggling to make sense of our daily lives. Then we have Anaïs Silvestro, prancing around as a culinary designer, presenting food as if it’s some high art form rather than what it truly is—nourishment for the body. And don’t get me started on Emmanuelle Valli, the semiologist who probably believes that interpreting the meaning behind a carrot is somehow groundbreaking. This is beyond ridiculous!

Are we really so desperate for meaning that we have to gather in a room to dissect colors and tastes like they’re the secrets of the universe? The fact that people are willing to pay for this kind of “enlightenment” speaks volumes about the current state of our society. We are drowning in a sea of aestheticism, where real issues—like economic inequality, mental health, and environmental degradation—are brushed aside for the sake of discussing how a blue plate makes food taste better. Seriously?

This is not just a failure of understanding; it’s a symptom of a larger problem. And let’s talk about accessibility. Events like this are often marketed towards the elite, those who can afford to indulge in such nonsense. What about the average person? Are they supposed to sit back and watch as intellectuals parade around, discussing the “intersection” of tastes and colors, while they struggle to put food on the table? This is not enlightenment; it’s a slap in the face to those who are genuinely trying to make sense of their lives.

FG Hosts Workshop on Gender Mainstreaming and GBV Success Stories Dissemination under TRIMING Project.

The Federal Government, through the Federal Ministry of Water Resources and Sanitation, in collaboration with the World Bank and other critical stakeholders, convened a Gender Mainstreaming and Gender-Based Violence (GBV) Success Stories Dissemination Workshop under the Transforming Irrigation Management in Nigeria (TRIMING) Project, with the theme: “From Tradition to Transformation, Led by Women”, today in Kano.

The Honourable Minister of Water Resources and Sanitation, Engr. Prof. Joseph Terlumun Utsev, who was represented by the Permanent Secretary, Mr. Richard Pheelangwah, in his keynote address emphasized that the TRIMING Project was designed to enhance irrigation systems and promote integrated water resource management, with gender and social safeguards as core components.

According to Prof. Utsev, the project has transformed women, youth, and vulnerable groups from being marginalized to becoming vital contributors in agriculture and water governance.

He highlighted the achievements of the project, including the development of GBV Action Plans across all schemes for risk mitigation and survivor support, women’s leadership in Water Users Associations (WUAs), enhancing inclusive decision-making, and the economic empowerment of women through active roles in irrigation management.

Prof. Utsev added that the extensive capacity-building on gender sensitivity and GBV prevention, the strengthening of local capacitie, including youth champions and gender desk officers, cultural norm shifts through media, dialogues, and storytelling in local languages, as well as alignment with global best practices and World Bank environmental and social standards, are additional achievements of the project.

The Minister thanked President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the World Bank, and the Project Monitoring Unit for their support in driving TRIMING’s success. He urged the replication of its gender and GBV initiatives in other projects and emphasized that achieving a gender-equitable, GBV-free society requires ongoing commitment and collaboration.

Engr. Hauwa Sadique Mohammed, Deputy Director Irrigation, delivering the welcome address on behalf of the Permanent Secretary, Mr. Richard Pheelangwah, emphasized the workshop as a key milestone in advancing inclusivity, equity, and safety, particularly for women, girls, and vulnerable groups in the TRIMING Project. The Permanent Secretary highlighted that from inception, the project prioritized gender equality, GBV prevention, and social inclusion, with gender mainstreaming embedded across all stages to ensure equal opportunities and safe spaces.

Delivering a comprehensive overview of the project, the Project Coordinator, Engr. Ipinlaye Olaiya, emphasized the central role of gender mainstreaming across all components of the TRIMING Project, noting that the deliberate integration of gender perspectives was not only strategic but essential to the long-term sustainability and impact of the interventions.

Goodwill messages were delivered by the Managing Director of Hadejia Jama’are River Basin Development Authority, Engr. Rabiu Suleiman Yusuf, representative of the academia,Prof. Restituta Igube from the University of Abuja, and Commissioners from the Gombe State Ministry of Women Affairs, Asmau Mohammed Iganus as well as the representative of Kano State Ministry of Women Affairs, Children, and the Disabled. They all emphasized the significance of inclusivity, sustainability, and community ownership in gender-responsive water and agricultural development.

A key moment of the workshop was the presentation of badges to Women Leaders of Water Users Associations (WUAs) of Sokoto Rima River Basin Development Authority, Jigawa, Kano, Gombe and Zamfara States.

*TOPIC: CHRISTIAN HOMES: PILLARS THAT SUSTAIN MARRIAGES*(Series 1)

*Scripture Reading:* Genesis 2:20-25

Marriage is one single unit that touches every part of the society. People who have become armed robbers, cultists, prostitutes and assassins, yahoo are from one home or the other and the society is where it is because of them. *Once the devil is able to destroy marriage, the society is finished.* And that's why God is so much interested in our marriages as believers.

On this series, we shall be looking at some pillars that contribute and strengthen Marriages and it's my earnest prayer that the Holy Spirit will reveal the truth to you in Jesus Christ name. Amen!

Some years ago, I was opportune to help in supervising a building project in a sloppy, watering and sand fill environment. *In order to build a house there, the owner was instructed and guided on what to do to build a lasting house on the said Land by the site engineer. Full rafter was done and serious compaction by some machines. It cost millions to get the foundation done with pillars and beams well positioned.*

In the same way, marriage is a house that is in danger of being washed away unless it is built on some pretty strong pillars. I have here identified some pillars of marriage. These pillars of marriage need each other to be strengthened in order for it to stand. They are foundational;

*1) The Rock (Jesus):* The ultimate anchoring point in a marriage is a 100% shared belief in Jesus as Savior and Lord and in His Word as His infallible instruction for life and marriage.  *Marriage is much more than a business contract or life strategy.  It is a uniting of two into one at the deepest heart and soul level.* By definition, marriage involves a spiritual component, which is why the Lord doesn’t want us to marry unbelievers (2 Corinthians 6:14, Ephesians 4:5). 

He knows that without a common faith, belief, and confession that a marriage will never be what it could and should be. *Knowing that one’s spouse believes firmly in what God says regarding marriage gives lasting hope that struggles and frustrations can be overcome because both spouses are following the same roadmap to the same destination.* To be continue tomorrow morning by God's Grace. Good morning and do have a fruitful weekend, peace.
