  • Operation Entebbe: The Daring Israeli Rescue That Shocked the World

On July 4th, 1976, the world witnessed one of the most daring rescue missions in history — Operation Entebbe, also known as Operation Thunderbolt — carried out by Israeli commandos deep inside hostile territory in Uganda.

It all began on June 27th, 1976, when Air France Flight 139, carrying 248 passengers from Tel Aviv to Paris, was hijacked shortly after a stopover in Athens. The hijackers — two Palestinians and two Germans — diverted the flight, first to Libya, and then to Entebbe Airport in Uganda. At the time, Uganda was under the brutal rule of President Idi Amin, who welcomed and supported the terrorists.

At Entebbe, the hijackers separated the passengers. They freed most non-Israelis, but kept over 100 Israeli and Jewish hostages, demanding the release of Palestinian prisoners held in Israel and other countries. They gave Israel a deadly ultimatum — release the prisoners or the hostages die.

But while the world waited, Israel was planning something bold.

With help from Mossad intelligence, details from released hostages, and even airport blueprints (from Israeli firms that built it), Israel prepared a top-secret rescue mission — flying over 2,500 miles into enemy territory.

On the night of July 3rd, four Israeli C-130 Hercules planes flew low, under radar, landing at Entebbe just before midnight. Disguised as Ugandan officials, commandos drove out in a black Mercedes — like Amin’s own — and launched a surprise assault.

In just 90 minutes, Israeli forces:

    Killed all the hijackers

    Destroyed Ugandan military planes

    Rescued 102 hostages

Lost only one soldier — Yonatan Netanyahu, the heroic unit commander and elder brother of current Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu.

Sadly, three hostages died during the rescue, and one elderly woman, Dora Bloch, who had been hospitalized before the raid, was later murdered on Idi Amin’s orders.

The world was stunned. Israel had pulled off what seemed impossible — a long-distance rescue operation in the heart of Africa. Many nations praised the courage and precision of the Israeli forces. The mission became a model for anti-terrorism operations worldwide.

Today, Operation Entebbe is remembered as a symbol of bravery, sacrifice, and the unshakable resolve to protect innocent lives — no matter the distance.

  • In the shadows of my thoughts, I find myself wandering through a world that feels so distant, so cold. The vibrant colors of creativity and expression seem to fade away, leaving only shades of gray in their wake. I hear whispers of joy, echoes of laughter, but they feel like cruel reminders of what I can’t reach.

As I scroll through the pages of KitBash3D's Anniversary Sale, a flicker of hope ignites within me. The idea of building a collection, piecing together fragments of my imagination, is alluring. For a moment, I feel the excitement of purchasing 2 kits and getting one free. Or the thrill of buying 3 kits and receiving 3 more for free! It’s a tempting offer, an invitation to create, to escape the solitude that envelops my heart. But then, the reality strikes; I am alone in this endeavor, sitting in silence with only the shadows as my companions.

I can imagine the scenes I could craft, the worlds I could build with those kits. Yet, as I dream of these creations, the weight of disappointment presses down on me. It’s as if these kits hold the power to connect me to a community I crave, a place where my art could belong. But instead, I am left with an empty canvas, yearning for the strokes of companionship and belonging.

Every click on the website feels like a step closer to fulfillment, yet the void inside me remains unfilled. I see others sharing their creations, their joys, and here I am, lost in my solitude, with nothing but my thoughts to keep me company. The colors of their collections seem to mock my emptiness, my inability to reach out and connect.

As the days pass and the sale progresses, I find myself caught in a cycle of longing and despair. The idea of building my collection with KitBash3D is both a dream and a painful reminder of the distance that separates me from others. I want to share my journey, my creations, but the fear of rejection holds me back. The thought of being unnoticed, of standing in a crowd yet feeling invisible, is a haunting reality I struggle to accept.

In this moment of reflection, I realize that even amidst the offers and the allure of creation, it’s the connections that truly matter. I long for a companion to explore these kits with, to share laughter and ideas, to build a world together. But here I am, whispering my sorrow into the void, hoping that someday, someone will hear me.

Until then, I will keep dreaming, keep longing, and keep searching for the courage to reach out. The sale may end, but the desire to create and connect will forever linger in my heart, a bittersweet reminder of my solitude.

  • *TOPIC: CHRISTIAN HOME: PILLARS THAT SUSTAIN MARRIAGES*(Series 2)

    *Scripture Reading:* 1 Corinthians 13:1-10, Ephesians 5:25

Yesterday, we started looking at our homes as christian, the pillars that contribute to the effectiveness of our Marriages. And the first pillar we looked at is JESUS. If our marriage is not standing on this rock, definitely it will collapse so quickly. *When we talk of fulfilling destiny and aligning to God's will, No marriage can work without Jesus.* The second pillar is:

*2) Love:* When asked, “Do you love your husband/wife?,” the answer should be based on actions toward one’s husband or wife. *If the answer is, “yes, I love my husband/wife,” then one should be saying, “I am giving myself to him/her.*

1Corinthians 13 defines love for us. Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. *The summary of this definition of love is simply GIVING YOURSELF TO ONE ANOTHER.*

In describing love to husbands, Paul explains in Ephesians 5:25 that love is about giving, not feeling. *"Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her".* This is the kind of love Jesus demonstrated that should be established in our marriages. When our homes is based on this fact, NO STORM WHATSOEVER THAT CAN SEPARATE THAT HOME for this is the will of God that we should love one another just as Christ loved the church and gave Himself for it.

NOTE: *If husband love his wife, he will tolerate her, correct in love and stay no matter what happens. And also, if wife love her husband, she will be totally submissive to him. Not minding his status or character.* To be continue tomorrow morning by God's Grace. Good morning and do happy Sunday, peace.

*Prayer point:* I put an end to pretends in our home today, help me to love my husband/wife and to give myself totally to our vow in Jesus Christ name. Amen!

  • #Iran Fires First #Hypersonic Missiles At Israel.

TEHRAN – Iran said on June 18 it has fired hypersonic missiles at Israel in the latest round of overnight strikes between the archfoes, hours after US President Donald Trump demanded the Islamic republic’s “unconditional surrender”.

In response to Mr Trump’s ultimatum, Iran’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, said in a post on X: “The battle begins.”

“We must give a strong response to the terrorist Zionist regime. We will show the Zionists no mercy,” he said.

Mr Trump insists Washington has played no part in ally Israel’s bombing campaign, but also warned Iran his patience is wearing thin as the conflict enters a sixth day.

Israeli warplanes targeted the Iranian capital before dawn on June 18 after the military issued a warning on social media for civilians in an area known as District 18 to evacuate.

Iranian state media reported explosions ricocheting in the Piroozi, Sabalan and Sayyad areas of Tehran.

Israel’s military said it struck an Iranian centrifuge production facility and multiple weapons manufacturing sites.

Iranian news websites said Israel was also attacking a university linked to Iran’s Revolutionary Guards in eastern Iran and the Khojir ballistic missile facility near Tehran.

In retaliation, Iran told residents of Tel Aviv to prepare for an attack, with the Revolutionary Guards claiming its hypersonic Fattah-1 missiles were “repeatedly shaking the shelters” in the commercial hub.

“The 11th wave of the proud Operation Honest Promise 3 using Fattah-1 missiles” was carried out, the Guards said in a statement broadcast on state television.

Hypersonic missiles travel at more than five times the speed of sound and can manoeuvre mid-flight, making them harder to track and intercept.

Iran also sent a “swarm of drones” towards Israel, where the army said it intercepted two over the Dead Sea area.

World powers have scrambled for an offramp, hoping to prevent the conflict from spiralling into a region-engulfing war.

In separate phone calls with his Iranian counterpart and US envoy Steve Witkoff late on June 17, Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty urged a diplomatic solution.

Back in Washington on June 17, Mr Trump demanded the Islamic republic’s “unconditional surrender”.

He also boasted that the US could easily assassinate Iran’s supreme leader.

“We know exactly where the so-called ‘supreme leader’ is hiding. He is an easy target, but is safe there – We are not going to take him out (kill!), at least not for now,” he wrote on his Truth Social platform.

He met with his National Security Council to discuss the conflict, ending after an hour and 20 minutes with no immediate public statement.

While he has repeatedly vowed to avoid wading into the “forever wars” of the Middle East, Mr Trump ordered the USS Nimitz aircraft carrier to the region along with a number of US military aircraft.

US officials stressed he has not yet made a decision about any intervention.

    Evacuations
Despite international alarm, neither side has backed off from the long-range blitz that began on June 18, when Israel launched an unprecedented bombing campaign targeting Iranian nuclear and military facilities.

Israel claims its attacks have killed senior Iranian commander Major-General Ali Shadmani, as well as his predecessor, Major-General Gholam Ali Rashid.

Residential areas in both countries have suffered deadly strikes since the fighting broke out, and foreign governments have scrambled to evacuate their citizens.

More than 700 foreigners living in Iran have crossed into neighboring Azerbaijan and Armenia since Israel launched its campaign, according to government figures.

Among those evacuated were citizens of Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, along with others from Germany, Spain, Italy, Serbia, Romania, Portugal, the US, the United Arab Emirates, China and Vietnam, a government source said.

China evacuated its first batch of Chinese citizens from Iran on June 17 via a land route into Turkmenistan.

The US said it was closing its embassy in Jerusalem until June 20 amid the growing conflict, but there was no announcement about helping Americans leave the “crisis area”.

The first in a wave of special flights carrying Israelis stranded abroad landed in Tel Aviv early on June 18. Israel closed its airspace to civilian flights on June 13, leaving about 150,000 travelers with no way to return.

Fearing violence, many residents of Tehran have fled.
