  • If Your People Are Dying, President Should Be Ready To Die — Peter Obi

Presidential hopeful Peter Obi says being Nigerian president is a responsibility that should engender compassion and not nonchalance.

Obi, who was a guest on Sunday Politics programme, believes that a president should be ready to pay the supreme price if his or her people are dying.

“If I become president, I will use resources effectively. I cannot say: ‘buy a new jet’,” Obi said whilst accusing the Bola Tinubu administration of being unfeeling to the plight of the people.

“I don’t need one because I can go anywhere without a jet. I will not use ₦150bn to buy a jet when 80% of primary healthcare centres are not functioning.

“I was a governor, and for my first four years, I drove 406. For the rest of it, I didn’t drive bulletproof cars. Nobody will try to kill you if you do the right thing. It is when you do the wrong thing that you fear death.

“If your people are dying, you should be ready to die. The president should also be ready to die,” he said.

The former Anambra State governor accused President Bola Tinubu of being unfeeling to the plight of Nigerians. He said Tinubu chose to go on Christmas holiday in Lagos in December 2024 instead of visiting Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, where several children died in a stampede at a Christmas party.

”There is no compassion; people lost their children who will lead this country in the future, and he went on a Christmas holiday.”

Obi also criticised Tinubu over the attack in Benue State, saying he went to Benue but failed to reach Yelwata, where suspected herdsmen killed scores and displaced thousands of people. Tinubu had explained that bad roads and floods prevented him from visiting the distressed community.

  • You lied about your past, your father disowned you – APC chieftain Eze blasts Wike

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Chief Eze Chukwuemeka Eze, has responded to some of the claims made by the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike during a recent interview.

Wike recently appeared on Channels Television’s Politics Today where he, among other things, claimed that he came from rich background and attended school driving in his own car. He said this insisting he did not come from the same background as his former boss, Chibuike Amaechi.

Wike also claimed that Dame Judith, the wife of Rotimi Amaechi, was collecting the sum of N4 million monthly to train Rivers women. Wike vowed to resign if the report of forensic audit on the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, does not indict Amaechi’s wife.

Reacting to Wike’s claims, Eze, an ally of Amaechi, who often stand for the former Minister of Transportation, said Wike only presented falsehood about his past exposure to the public thereby ridiculing himself.

According to him, Wike, who was an errand boy to Amaechi, has of today denied everyone who made one contribution or another to lift him from abject poverty which reigned supreme in his family.

Eze wondered whether it was Wike that made himself a Local Government Chairman, Chief of Staff to Amaechi and later nominated himself as a Minister during the Jonathan regime.

“Trying to claim how rich his father was when poverty that radiated his family was as strong as the direct ray of sun, is denying his background,” Eze said in a statement he signed and made available to reporters at the weekend.

“His father, if alive, would be disappointed in his act of self-denial to justify his lavish living with public funds. Not minding that his father disowned him because of his character and if not for his friend’s father who assisted him by paying his school fees, Nigerians would have been spared of having such a charlatan in public service

“In his futile attempt to castigate Amaechi’s wife who had genuine dealings with the NDDC, one is forced to ask whether Wike’s wife is fit for the exalted position of a Judge which she holds given that sleeping daily in the same room and on the same bed with a character like Wike will definitely affect her sense of judgement in the delivery of justice. The business of Court is a noble one and the background of a Judge shapes his/her sense of judgement.”

Eze blamed Amaechi said the former Rivers Governor made the greatest error in his political journey by encountering Wike and assisting him to be a Local Government Chairman; appointing him as his Chief of Staff and recommending him for Ministerial appointment.

“As Governor, Wike’s biggest legacy is the destruction of all major policies and projects set up by the Amaechi’s government for the betterment of Rivers State and her people. The Agricultural set up that would have taken care of the food challenge currently facing Nigerians was destroyed, the educational sector and scholarship set up by Amaechi to make Rivers State a hub for human development was destroyed by Wike.”

  • Enugu State made history today.
We just became the first state in the South East to own an airline.
And the second in Nigeria, after Akwa Ibom.

When Peter Mbah first mentioned this plan, I honestly didn’t believe it.
But today, I was privileged to be among those who witnessed the unveiling of Enugu Air at Akanu Ibiam International Airport.
    And I was amazed.

One of the pilots flying the aircraft is from Enugu State Kelechi Ossai, from Igbo-Eze North.
I met the young man. Smart, focused, and proud to represent.

Do you know what this means for Enugu’s economy?

    This move will:
    Create real jobs
    Boost regional trade
Improve air travel access across the South East and beyond and.
Put Enugu on the map for investment

Even Festus Keyamo said itPeter Mbah is arguably the best-performing governor in Nigeria right now.

    Invest in Enugu State ooo.
    Something big is happening here.

  • Develop Robust Training In Your MDAS, Governor Otti Charges Appointees, Directs Training Of Youths

Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti has mandated his appointees and heads of Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) of the State Government to develop robust training and capacity building programmes for their establishments.

Governor Otti also mandated the Chief Strategy Officer and the Chairman of the Civil Service Commission to work out a template for the training of 1,000 young people between the ages of 16 to 20 on leadership capacity development, character building and self-discovery outside the academic environment.

The Governor handed down the directives at the International Conference Centre (ICC), Umuahia, during the closing ceremony of the 2025 Abia State Quarter 2 Executive Council Strategy Retreat.

According to Governor Otti, one central takeaway from the retreat is the importance of training and mentorship which supports individuals to become better versions of themselves, so as to become better employees and subordinates.

"To that effect, all Commissioners and heads of MDAs are directed to develop robust training and capacity building programmes for their establishments.

"Critical learning areas such as ICT, communication, stakeholder management and value creation in line with the peculiar mandates of the individuals and MDAs should be incorporated.

“Nobody should be left behind and any staff who fails to participate should be reprimanded.

"Clear metrics of assessment are to be developed and outcomes used as part of the relevant criteria for assigning official responsibilities. I expect to get periodic reports on this from various MDAs,” the Governor instructed.

"The Chief Strategy Officer and the Chairman of the Civil Service Commission are hereby mandated to work out a suitable template for the training of 1,000 young people between the ages of 16 to 20 on leadership capacity development, character building and self-discovery, outside the academic environment.

"Training and mentorship programmes will also be extended to young graduates from senior secondary schools and institutions of higher learning," Gov. Otti stated.

Governor Otti announced that the State Government would establish an academy to facilitate scheduled training for government employees and announced plans to extend mentorship and capacity - building initiatives to young people in Secondary Schools and Tertiary Institutions across the State.

"The young people's training should be made to happen between the first week of August and the second week of September. And this is when the students are expected to be on vacation.

"They should also be institutionalised, conducted periodically, and properly certificated.

"The programme should be structured to transform the minds of the young leaders, expose them to new thinking, and prepare them for the tasks of leadership and service in communities in due course," Gov. Otti stated.

The State Chief Executive, who appreciated the consultants and resource persons who anchored the various sessions of the retreat, particularly, the leadership and members of the Abia Global Economic Advisory Council, also thanked the organisers of the retreat.

He stressed the need for the participants to apply the knowledge gained from the retreat to improve on their performances and said that, knowledge is nothing until it is applied to achieve superior outcomes.

The curtains of the Abia State Government 2025 Quarter 2 Executive Council Strategy Retreat was drawn to a close as participants expressed satisfaction with the quality of the training and the windows it offered to interact with members of the Abia Global Economic Advisory Council.

Peter Obi Is Your Next President

    By Igho David

Peter Obi has officially submitted his application to the new coalition as a one term President. That one term is enough to change Nigeria.

I once stated it in the first week of June that Mr. Peter Obi will go for one term and the North trust him enough to keep to his word.

Peter Obi is your next president. You can take it to the bank.

The entire South South and South East governors and lawmakers from these regions that ran to APC last month will work for the emergence of Peter Obi as president because he is from the South and they are now at peace because the North has kept to the zoning agreement.

Atiku Abubakar made this huge sacrifice. He is not running for the presidency come 2027 and you can take it to the bank.

Peter Obi is the best and only candidate that will easily defeat Tinubu with the Northern support from Atiku Abubakar, Nasir El-Rufai , Sen David Mark , Sule Lamido , The AREWA Elders.

Ahmed Datti will have to make Obi sacrifice him for Atiku and Buhari to hand pick Obi's VP. He will either be Obi's Minister of Justice and Attorney General or Chief of Staff

  • Governor Otti Declares 2nd Quarter Retreat Open, Reminds Appointees Of the Huge Task Ahead

Governor Alex Otti has reminded members of the State Executive Council and all Appointees of his Government of the enormous tasks ahead of them in the second half of his first term in office.

Governor Otti was speaking on Wednesday, when he declared open, the Abia State Quarter 2 Strategy Retreat organised for his appointees at the International Conference Centre, Umuahia, with the theme, "Sustaining the Momentum: Leadership and Execution".

Gov. Otti said that the focus in 2023 was moving from the drawing board to the field of execution and noted that the last 21 months since the first Executive Council retreat, have served a very useful lesson in public service, managing stakeholders expectations, and striking a fair balance between meeting the urgent needs of the day and repositioning for the opportunities of tomorrow.

"These regular retreat sessions have been institutionalised to enable us to periodically assess ourselves, measure our progress vis-à-viz, the relevant milestones that form the nucleus of our agenda, identify where we may have fallen short, and ultimately determine how to speed up things, subject to the availability of resources.

"The general consensus, even from our friends on the other side of the political divide, is that we have done well in the last two years, raised the bar on governance, and shown a single-minded commitment to the new Abia dream.

"It is important to remind us that we are now operating in a different terrain, where the expectations are dynamic and requires a genuine sense of empathy and broad understanding of our place in the grand scheme of things.

Governor Otti, who warned against laxity and underperformance, urged the participants to leverage the retreat to interact, share knowledge and improve on their performances, emphasising that his government has zero tolerance for mediocrity.

"I would therefore encourage us to take advantage of this retreat to interact, ask questions at the group discussions, and book one-on-one sessions with any team member who can support you to become better,

"Because again, we also have zero tolerance for mediocrity. And, I would like to emphasise at this point that the one-on-one mentorship sessions should actually happen with the members of the Global Economic Advisory Council.

He noted that the current retreat is different from the previous ones as he invited the leadership and members of the Abia Global Economic Advisory Council to attend. He used the opportunity to thank the Council members led by the Co-Chair, Professor Ms. Arunma Oteh, who he said, has since the beginning of the week, been interacting with government officials prior to the commencement of the retreat.

Speaking earlier in his opening remarks, the Secretary to the State Government, Professor Kenneth Kalu, said that the theme of the retreat, "Sustaining the Momentum: Leadership and Execution" is apt, as the credibility of any government does not depend merely on promises but the capacity to deliver.

He said that the challenges before government are not a simple one, adding that, that was the essence of the plan to sustain the momentum that has been achieved already.

Prof Kalu stressed on the need for effective collaboration among government officials and reminded them that while ideas and visions are celebrated, they only achieve meaning through disciplined and collaborative implementation.

The day 1 of the 2nd quarter EXCO Strategy Retreat was attended by members of the Abia State Global Economic Advisory Council and all Appointees of the Government.

Governor Otti Declares 2nd Quarter Retreat Open, Reminds Appointees Of the Huge Task Ahead Governor Alex Otti has reminded members of the State Executive Council and all Appointees of his Government of the enormous tasks ahead of them in the second half of his first term in office. "I would therefore encourage us to take advantage of this retreat to interact, ask questions at the group discussions, and book one-on-one sessions with any team member who can support you to become better, "Because again, we also have zero tolerance for mediocrity. • ADC Coalition And Their Military Era ‘Telephone Is Not For The Poor’ Mentality

David Mark is 77 years old, and Rauf Aregbesola is 68. And these are the people who will lead the new coalition party. Can you, as a Nigerian youth, have any hope in such a gerontocratic party, headed by a man who inspired the headline, ‘Telephones Are Not For The Poor’, and another, who as Osun Governor caused religious crisis in his state by forcing Christian Missionary schools to merge with schools they had no affiliation with, which led to religious violence in Osun?

What is their purpose for coming together? They have stated it clearly. It is not to make telephones affordable for the poor, but to simply take power from President Bola Tinubu.

  • David Mark Was Governor Of Niger 42-Years Ago When I Was In Secondary School -Shehu Sani

“Someone just told me that ‘Your ex-Senate colleague, David Mark, is the new chairman of the coalition’. I just corrected him that yes, we were colleagues in the 8th Senate; but 42-years ago, David Mark was the governor of Niger State when I was in a science secondary school in the same Niger State.

“We used to line up in our school uniforms to receive him while he fondly called us ‘leaders of tomorrow’. He is a disciplinarian and a good man, but not ‘new’.” -Senator Shehu Sani, July 2025
