PRESS RELEASE INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION: NIGERIA POLICE FORCE ARREST, REPATRIATE CHINESE FUGITIVE TO CHINA The Nigeria Police Force, through the INTERPOL National Central Bureau (NCB) Abuja, has successfully apprehended and repatriated a Chinese fugitive, Mr. CHEN Gaochong, to the People’s Republic of China, in close collaboration with Chinese Police authorities and in accordance with international law enforcement protocols. This strategic operation marks a significant milestone in transnational police cooperation and the global fight against financial crime. Mr. Chen Gaochong, a male national of China, was declared wanted by the Peixian Public Security Bureau of Jiangsu Province for offences involving tax fraud, specifically the unlawful issuance of special Value Added Tax (VAT) invoices totalling RMB 4,974,400. The investigation, initiated by Chinese authorities on 5th March 2020, revealed that between May and August 2017, the suspect fraudulently issued 45 VAT invoices for fictitious transactions under the guise of legitimate business activities. These invoices were issued to Xuzhou Wanfeng Plastic Industry Co., Ltd., using the names of two other companies, Linhai Guangyong Plastic Products Co., Ltd. and Linhai Beilaisi Plastic Products Co., Ltd., without their consent or involvement. Following the discovery of his criminal activities, Chen Gaochong fled Mainland China on 16th November 2019 through the Shenzhen Bay port to Hong Kong, and later escaped to Burkina Faso before illegally entering Nigeria in 2021. He deliberately avoided renewing his international passport in an attempt to conceal his identity and evade arrest. An arrest warrant was subsequently issued by the Peixian Public Security Bureau on 9th July 2020 for his detention on suspicion of tax-related offences. Upon receipt of a formal request for assistance from Chinese authorities, INTERPOL NCB Abuja commenced covert intelligence operations, leading to the successful tracing and arrest of the fugitive in Lagos on Tuesday, 24th June 2025. In the spirit of international law enforcement cooperation and mutual legal assistance, Mr. Chen Gaochong was repatriated and formally handed over to Chinese authorities on Thursday, 3rd July 2025. The Nigeria Police Force, under the leadership of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, Ph.D., NPM, reaffirms its dedication to ensuring that Nigeria does not serve as a haven for criminals fleeing justice. The Force remains committed to upholding global standards in transnational crime prevention and will continue to strengthen its collaboration with international law enforcement agencies to combat crime and criminality. Court Jails Mohammed Gobir Seven Years For N300m Fraud In Lagos Justice R.I.B. Adeniyi of the State High Court sitting in Ikeja Lagos, on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, convicted and sentenced one Mohammed Gobir to seven years imprisonment for N300m fraud. His journey to prison began after he was arrested by the operatives of EFCC at his Ikoyi, Lagos residence on September 12, 2015, following a petition received by the Commission from an outdoor advertising company , Afromedia. Gobir, according to the petitioner, was introduced to the Company by its private placement consultants, Synergy Capital Advisory Limited, sometime in 2008. He, thereafter, offered to invest the sum of N1billion in Afromedia, a pretext that earned him a position as Chairman, Business Development Committee, on the Board of Directors. Investigation revealed that Gobir, having earned the trust of the company’s Board, defrauded the company of several millions in hard currency. He was subsequently arraigned on March 17, 2016 by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on a 17-count charge bordering on obtaining under false pretence, stealing, possession of fraudulent documents and forgery. One of the counts reads: That you, Mohammed Gobir, a non-Executive Director and Chairman of Business Development Committee of Afromedia Plc, between January 2009 and December 2011 in Lagos, within the jurisdiction of this Honourable Court, with intent to defraud, obtained the sum of N514,457,151.87 (Five Hundred and Fourteen Million, Four Hundred and Fifty Seven Thousand, One Hundred and Fifty One Naira, Eighty Seven Kobo) from Afromedia Plc by falsely pretending to Afromedia Plc that the said sum of money represented the cost of facilitating and securing the sum of $70,000,000 (Seventy Million Dollars) from your account in NATWEST Bank, London, United Kingdom as your investment fund in Afromedia Plc out of the $250,000,000 (Two Hundred and Fifty Million United States Dollars) stashed in your account at NATWEST Bank, London, United Kingdom which pretence you Knew to be false and thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 1(3) of the Advance Fee Fraud and Other Fraud Related Offences Act, No . 14, 2006.” He pleaded “ not guilty” to the charge, thereby leading to his full trial. During the trial, the prosecution counsel, Nnaemeka Omewa, called four witnesses and tendered several documents that were admitted in evidence against the defendant. The defence counsel, Y.B. Bayero called three witnesses. Delivering judgment on Wednesday, Justice Adebiyi convicted and sentenced the defendant to seven years imprisonment on count 1 of obtaining under false pretence; counts four and five of stealing and counts 8, 11, 14 & 17 of possession of fraudulent documents. He was sentenced to six months imprisonment on counts four and five of stealing. The sentences are to run concurrently. The Judge ordered the convict to pay restitution of $1 million USD and ₦123 million for the convictions on counts four and five for stealing. The restitution is to be paid to the nominal complainant. The court, however, discharged him on the counts of forgery and being in possession of forged documents.

The Coalition of Ambition: Why 2027 Might Still Belong to Tinubu In 2023, the Nigerian opposition had a golden opportunity to defeat the APC at the polls, but they squandered it. Why? Two words: personal ambition. Peter Obi’s defection from the PDP to Labour Party weeks before the election was the final nail in PDP’s coffin. By pulling a significant portion of southern youth and Christian votes, Obi effectively split the opposition vote and handed the victory to Bola Ahmed Tinubu. The numbers don’t lie; combine Obi and Atiku’s votes, and the story could have been different. To be candid, Atiku and Obi have been inconsistent in their political journeys. Atiku has moved from PDP to ACN to APC and back to PDP, while Obi moved from APGA to PDP, and then to LP. While it is not wrong to change parties, when the motivation is clearly personal ambition, not ideology or vision, the public eventually notices. These men are chasing the presidency like a game of musical chairs—jumping from one party to another, hoping one finally puts them in Aso Rock. Now, they want to form a coalition, ADC, LP, PDP, NNPP, etc. but it’s already looking like a house built on sand. Atiku still wants to be president. Obi believes he is the people’s choice and feels entitled to the presidency. Rabiu Kwankwaso wants his turn too. What happens when all of them sit at the table and no one is willing to give up their ambition? Meanwhile, Bola Ahmed Tinubu has demonstrated what it means to play the long game in Nigerian politics. Love him or hate him, the man is a seasoned political strategist. He didn’t just wake up and become president. He spent over two decades building structures, making allies, empowering political foot soldiers from the ward level to the national assembly. He played kingmaker for years and waited for the right moment to strike. While the others were fighting over who should get the ticket, Tinubu was working the system, understanding the real dynamics of Nigerian politics: grassroots mobilization, structure, patience, and strategic loyalty. And let’s not forget: after the 2023 election, Peter Obi virtually went silent. The so-called “Obidient” movement lost momentum. No serious political meetings. No town hall forums. No grassroots development. The Labour Party became just another platform, not a movement. You don’t build a national political machine by trending on social media. Now, as 2027 approaches, the same characters are trying to merge forces, yet no clear structure, no shared ideology, no defined candidate. Just ambition floating on ego. If we’re being objective, Tinubu stands a real chance of winning again in 2027, and here’s why: 1. Structure: APC still has the widest political structure in Nigeria, from ward to federal level. 2. Incumbency Power: Whether you like it or not, the party in power controls more levers of influence. 3. Disunited Opposition: Unless the opposition agrees on a single candidate and strategy early, they will split the votes again. 4. Time: No politician can build what Tinubu built in just two years. His patience, long-term vision, and networking across Nigeria are unmatched. In conclusion, politics in Nigeria is not a sprint—it’s a marathon. Tinubu understood that. Atiku and Obi did not. And unless the so-called coalition can put aside ego, agree on one credible candidate, and start building structure from now, 2027 might just be another smooth ride for BAT if care is not taken. Well, I dey wait for who go gree for who Sha. Anonymous writer

MY LETTER TO THE WORLD ON HOW TO ALLEVIATE WORLD PROBLEMS IN OUR CONTEMPORARY SOCIETY. In contemporary society, a multitude of abnormalities persist on a daily and nightly basis, spanning generations. The continued practice of misguided belief systems prompts the inquiry: how can we terminate this chaos? Consider the following: the concept of racial superiority is fundamentally flawed. Individuals from all ethnic backgrounds require assistance from one another. We are designed to coexist, sharing resources and celebrating diversity. It is apparent that life's offerings are not exclusive to one race; discoveries and innovations are intended to benefit humanity collectively. Ultimately, nothing in life is solely reserved for one group. 1) The reality that I emphasize in my messages to the world is that all humans are connected and originate from a single source. What constitutes a better life, which is comprised of everything that brings us happiness and fulfillment? Through my examination of life, I have come to realize that we all share the same fundamental needs. Moreover, I have found that even before humanity came into existence, everything required for a fulfilling life was already in place. We do not need to be selfish or harmful; our desires can be attained through love and mutual respect. Africa, America, China, and India are all valuable contributors to the world, and failure to recognize this is a sign of ignorance that requires attention. (2) Failure to acknowledge the truth about our perspectives on other races: It will astonish you to learn about the self-perceptions of Chinese, Indian, Black, and White individuals. Instead of collaborating and educating ourselves about the realities of life, some races attempt to conceal, destroy other cultures, and manipulate them to perpetuate exploitation. However, this behavior will not persist indefinitely, and eventually, the suppressed and exploited individuals will acquire the capacity to rise up against their oppressors, leading to a reversal of consequences. I emphasized that it is foolish for any race to consider itself superior to others; we are one, one world, one God, one humanity, we want a good life, a beautiful earth, highlighting that the world's resources are sufficient for humanity to share, and we will never exhaust them. (3)Every individual has free will, except for minors who require supervision. So-called international laws that supposedly aim to improve the world appear to favor one race over others. In response to the corona virus, Africans developed their own solutions, but these required approval from the World Health Organization, resulting in delays pending WHO validation. In Nigeria, many companies are closing because overseas companies do not want local solution providers to coexist with their own, so they use their collective power to stop it. If we are to achieve peace and progress, we must work together, love one another, and share with one another. Otherwise, a time will come when no human can stop the nemesis of our corrupt attitudes. Interestingly, the most corrupt country in the world, which is also ranked as the most curious, questions why it is not listed among the corrupt nations. We must allow every country and race to decide what is good for them, as nobody should rule the world due to the lack of human capacity, which only the creator possesses. To summarize, the notion that one human being is superior to another is a falsehood, as is the idea that we do not need each other's support in life. Additionally, it is a misconception that any race can exist independently of others. It is also untrue that we do not all require the necessities of life, which bring fulfillment. It is an established fact that humanity shares a common origin. Consequently, we must work collaboratively with love, respect each other's cultural diversity, and share the resources provided by our creators for our mutual benefit. “I created Stitch when I myself felt like a failed experiment.” 🌀💔 I was an animator at Disney, but I felt invisible. The big ideas came from others… or so they thought. I was given minor tasks, as if I wasn’t good enough. Those were gray days. I had worked for years, but saw no results. One day, after yet another meeting where my voice was ignored, I picked up a pencil and drew something no one had asked for: a little alien with a mischievous face and a broken soul. ✏️👾 That drawing was me. Stitch was my reflection: misunderstood, rejected, but with a deep desire to belong. I took him to the studio, almost afraid, expecting it to be shelved like everything else. But this time… they listened. They liked it. And they gave me the chance to direct Lilo & Stitch. But it wasn’t easy. Many said it was crazy to mix science fiction with family drama. It almost got canceled. 😤📉 My team was small. The budget, limited. But the passion was huge. Every scene had a piece of me: the pain of being ignored, the fight to not give up, the longing to be accepted. When the movie premiered, I saw people crying in the theaters. People who saw themselves in a blue alien. That’s when I realized that the strangest stories… are sometimes the most human. 🎥💙 “We all feel like Stitch at some point: broken, out of place, different. But with the right kind of love… even the misunderstood can become legends.” 🌌🫂 — Chris Sanders ##fyp #chrissandersartt
