  • *TOPIC: BELIEVING GOD FOR THE MIRACULOUS.*(Series 9)

    *Scripture Reading:* Psalm 78:40-42

*"How often they rebelled against Him in the wilderness And grieved Him in the desert! Again and again, they tempted God, And distressed the Holy One of Israel. They did not remember [the miracles worked by] His [powerful] hand, Nor the day when He redeemed them from the enemy,"*(AMP)

Am glad to welcome you to the second half of the year 2025. Thank God you make it to JULY. This month will be your month of EVIDENCE and you will experience LOUDER TESTIMONY because God will perfect all that concerns you this month in Jesus Christ name. Amen!

In many occasions, in the lives of His children, God desire that they should see His mighty works but unfortunately, God will be displeased. Think about when Jesus came to Nazareth. He was ‘God in the flesh,’ yet the Bible says, *"And He could not do a miracle there at all [because of their unbelief] except that He laid His hands on a few sick people and healed them. He wondered at their unbelief. And He was going around in the villages teaching."* (Mk. 6:5-6 AMP) Why? Because God has so designed things that OUR PART in miracles is to have faith in God and 0if we fail in our part, it will hindered God's move.

The Holy Spirit will be helping us to see why we LIMIT God in doing the miraculous in our lives:

*I). OUR LACK OF FAITH LIMITS GOD:* The Bible provides numerous examples where lack of faith on the part of some negatively impacted many. Some of these Bible examples are:

1.Ten of the Twelve Israelites Sent to Spy Out the Land of Canaan. The faith that these ten had in the power of God to give Israel victory over the inhabitants of Canaan was virtually non-existent.*“Then Caleb quieted the people before Moses, and said, ‘Let us go up at once and take possession, for we are well able to overcome it." "But the men who had gone up with him said, ‘We are not able to go up against the people, for they are stronger than we.’ And they gave the children of Israel a bad report of the land which they had spied out, saying, ‘The land through which we have gone as spies is a land that devours its inhabitants, and all the people whom we saw in it are men of great stature. There we saw the giants (the descendants of Anak came from the giants); and we were like grasshoppers in our own sight, and so we were in their sight."*(Numb 13:30-33 NKJV)

The lack of faith on the part of the ten unbelieving spies brought frightening consequences to the Israelites. *These are the things to be noted in the christian journey. Is either you're a believer or unbeliever. If you're a believer, good but if you're unbeliever, is better you separate yourself from the fold so as not to invoke the wrath of God on the congregation because you will limit God's mighty hands as your presence would have polluted the minds of the congregation.* To be continue tomorrow morning by God's Grace. Good morning and do have a fruitful NEW MONTH, peace.

*Prayer Point:* Father, deliver me from the spirit of faithlessness that has been affecting my spiritual growth in Jesus Christ name. Amen!

FG Hosts Workshop on Gender Mainstreaming and GBV Success Stories Dissemination under TRIMING Project.

The Federal Government, through the Federal Ministry of Water Resources and Sanitation, in collaboration with the World Bank and other critical stakeholders, convened a Gender Mainstreaming and Gender-Based Violence (GBV) Success Stories Dissemination Workshop under the Transforming Irrigation Management in Nigeria (TRIMING) Project, with the theme: “From Tradition to Transformation, Led by Women”, today in Kano.

The Honourable Minister of Water Resources and Sanitation, Engr. Prof. Joseph Terlumun Utsev, who was represented by the Permanent Secretary, Mr. Richard Pheelangwah, in his keynote address emphasized that the TRIMING Project was designed to enhance irrigation systems and promote integrated water resource management, with gender and social safeguards as core components.

According to Prof. Utsev, the project has transformed women, youth, and vulnerable groups from being marginalized to becoming vital contributors in agriculture and water governance.

He highlighted the achievements of the project, including the development of GBV Action Plans across all schemes for risk mitigation and survivor support, women’s leadership in Water Users Associations (WUAs), enhancing inclusive decision-making, and the economic empowerment of women through active roles in irrigation management.

Prof. Utsev added that the extensive capacity-building on gender sensitivity and GBV prevention, the strengthening of local capacitie, including youth champions and gender desk officers, cultural norm shifts through media, dialogues, and storytelling in local languages, as well as alignment with global best practices and World Bank environmental and social standards, are additional achievements of the project.

The Minister thanked President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the World Bank, and the Project Monitoring Unit for their support in driving TRIMING’s success. He urged the replication of its gender and GBV initiatives in other projects and emphasized that achieving a gender-equitable, GBV-free society requires ongoing commitment and collaboration.

Engr. Hauwa Sadique Mohammed, Deputy Director Irrigation, delivering the welcome address on behalf of the Permanent Secretary, Mr. Richard Pheelangwah, emphasized the workshop as a key milestone in advancing inclusivity, equity, and safety, particularly for women, girls, and vulnerable groups in the TRIMING Project. The Permanent Secretary highlighted that from inception, the project prioritized gender equality, GBV prevention, and social inclusion, with gender mainstreaming embedded across all stages to ensure equal opportunities and safe spaces.

Delivering a comprehensive overview of the project, the Project Coordinator, Engr. Ipinlaye Olaiya, emphasized the central role of gender mainstreaming across all components of the TRIMING Project, noting that the deliberate integration of gender perspectives was not only strategic but essential to the long-term sustainability and impact of the interventions.

Goodwill messages were delivered by the Managing Director of Hadejia Jama’are River Basin Development Authority, Engr. Rabiu Suleiman Yusuf, representative of the academia,Prof. Restituta Igube from the University of Abuja, and Commissioners from the Gombe State Ministry of Women Affairs, Asmau Mohammed Iganus as well as the representative of Kano State Ministry of Women Affairs, Children, and the Disabled. • The Relationship Between CHI (Spirit) and CHI (Daylight) In Odinala Igbo, Pinpointing The Realm Of CHI in Igbo Cosmology:

The ancient Igbo, in their wisdom and understanding of creation, had the same name for our Spirit, Life-force, Destiny (CHI) and the daylight (CHI), which accompanies the rising of the sun (Anya anwu/Anyanwu). And so also in the practice of Odinala which they handed down to us, Ndi gboo designated the sun as the dwelling place and ultimate source of the CHI (light/life-force/spirit/essence).

They believe that the sun is the medium through which our individual CHI enters our world, to take on anu aru (bodies/cloths). We see this in the ritual of installing (Idotu Chi) the physical representation of a man's chi (Okpensi CHI).

When a man comes of age in many parts of Igbo land, he is expected to physically invite his CHI into his home by setting up an altar/shrine dedicated to the complete communication with his CHI.

He will invite a Dibia to perform the ritual of Idotu Chi, which is bringing down the CHI from the face of the sun, at daybreak.

The CHI is invoked into the Okensi CHI and will remain in the man's compound until the day of his death, when the shrine must be destroyed.

The implication of the above ritual simply means that our individual CHI resides with the sun, the bringer of daylight, or, in other meaning, the CHI passes through it to visit our world (Uwa).

And this completely aligns with the Igbo understanding that CHIUKWU OKIKE (the Supreme Spirit) is in close communion with the sun (Anyanwu) – and expresses itself chiefly through the sun, Anyanwu.

By the foregoing, it then simply establishes the fact that the dwelling place of the CHI is not Ala Mmuo (spirit realm of dead people), as has been erroneously taught by those who try to marry Odinala and Christianity.

It is important to note that there are two spiritual realms in Igbo cosmology: "Ala mmuo" being a dwelling place of the spirits of dead people, while "Be mmuo" is the home of CHIUKWU OKIKE, CHI, and all other Alusi that carry out the work of the Supreme Spirit (Chi Ukwu, Chi na Eke, Olisa Ebili Uwa).

It is important that in our definition of the realm and source of the CHI, that we do not carelessly relegate the CHI to the land of the spirit of the dead.

This is because they are two distinct realms, like I have mentioned above. Ndi Igbo, in their understanding of life and the afterlife, look forward to the next world (after we die) as a spirit realm which is as much the same as the physical world.

The ground, forests, hills, valleys, rivers, streams, oceans, and roads leading to various towns are just like we have here in this reality. Dead ancestors, who now inhabit the spirit world (Ala/Ana/Ani mmuo) have their usual occupations, just like when they were in the world of the living.

It is from this Ala mmuo that dead ancestors come to our realm, in an ever-continuous cycle of life, death and reincarnation. This abode of ancestral spirit is different from the dwelling place of the CHI, which according to Ndi Gboo is the sun (Anyanwu).

  • Russia has signed new agreements to strengthen trade and economic relations with Mali, as President Vladimir Putin hosted the West African country’s military leader, Colonel Assimi Goita, in Moscow on Monday.

The two leaders met at the Kremlin for a two-hour discussion, according to Russian state media.

Putin described the relationship between Russia and Mali as following a “positive trajectory,” though he acknowledged that current trade volumes remain modest, Reuters reported.

He emphasized potential areas for deeper cooperation, including geological exploration, natural resource development, energy, logistics, and humanitarian efforts.

One of the key deals signed was focused on nuclear energy cooperation. The two countries have previously discussed a strategic plan to build a Russian-designed low-power nuclear plant in Mali.

The junta-led country is following a similar path to Burkina Faso, having taken a major step toward embracing nuclear energy by officially signing the final administrative document of a historic intergovernmental agreement with Russia last week.

This landmark deal represents a significant milestone in Mali’s efforts to diversify its energy sources and tackle the country’s growing electricity needs, as it seeks long-term solutions to power shortages and boost national development.

    Russia’s expanding footprint in Africa
Earlier this month, construction also began on a new Russian-backed gold refinery in Mali. Set to be constructed on a five-hectare site near Bamako’s international airport, the refinery will have the capacity to process up to 200 metric tons of gold annually, a significant leap from Mali’s current processing capacity of about 50 tons.

Though Mali is one of Africa’s largest gold producers, it currently lacks a fully functional and globally certified refinery.

The country’s two existing facilities have been unable to meet the standards required by global bodies like the London Bullion Market Association (LBMA), forcing miners to refine their gold abroad. The new refinery will produce gold with a purity of 99.5%, adhering to international certification standards.

  • *TOPIC: CHRISTIAN HOME: PILLARS THAT SUSTAIN MARRIAGES*(Series 3)

*Scripture Reading:* Proverbs 31:11; *"The heart of her husband trusts in her, and he will have no lack of gain”* (ESV).

The scripture above will lead us to the next pillars:

*3) Trust:* A good marriage cannot be built and sustained without trust. Trust toward one another is vital.

Marital trust has three basic levels. Each of these levels is weighted in importance. *The first level is that of fidelity. A married person must be able to trust that his or her spouse will remain faithful in the marriage.* God placed such an importance on this area of trust in marriage that He made not committing adultery one of the Ten Commandments.

The second level of trust is that of honesty. A husband or wife should be able to trust that his or her partner will be honest. *A spouse must be honest about who they are, what they’re feeling and thinking, and about their successes and failures. There should be no hiding secret from one another.* They should be able to trust each other to tell the truth.

Now, if a spouse does not tell the truth about something, it doesn’t break the foundation of the marriage trust, but it does damage the relationship. A big question to be asked is why one’s spouse was untruthful. The answer to that question plays a big part in healing the wound of that broken trust. *If, for instance, a wife fails to tell her husband about her past rough life because she was afraid he would be angry, and if he has a history of being angry over things like that, then both of them must work on healing that wound. She needs to reestablish her credibility with him by being honest and he needs to make it safe for her to tell the truth by not punishing her with his anger for doing so.*

The third level of trust has to do with behaviors. A husband or wife generally wants to trust that his or her spouse will behave in certain ways toward him or her. *One wants to trust the other to meet needs, to treat with respect, to be patient and to consider him or her in daily activities.*

The levels of trust, one, two, or three, are designated so for the following reason. If a husband breaks his wife’s trust on the first level, he destroys far more than breaking her trust on the third level. *Conversely, if a husband forgets to call his wife to let her know he will arrive late at home, it would not have the devastating effect infidelity would have had.* It may have broken her trust and weakened the relationship, but it doesn’t destroy it and takes less work to mend. To be continue tomorrow morning by God's Grace. Good morning and do have a fruitful week, peace.

*Prayer point:* Dear Lord, forgive all my unfaithful acts towards my spouse. Help me to be faithful in my marriage in Jesus Christ name. Amen!

She needs to reestablish her credibility with him by being honest and he needs to make it safe for her to tell the truth by not punishing her with his anger for doing so.* The third level of trust has to do with behaviors. A husband or wife generally wants to trust that his or her spouse will behave in certain ways toward him or her. *One wants to trust the other to meet needs, to treat with respect, to be patient and to consider him or her in daily activities.* The levels of trust, one, two, or three, are designated so for the following reason. Amen! T.S. AFOLAYAN
