WHAT NIGERIANS ARE SAYING ABOUT THE DEATH OF BUHARI NOT NEW SAME WAS SAID ABOUT SANI ABACHA'S DEATH
Former Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari Dies in London at 82
Nigeria’s former president Muhammadu Buhari has died at the age of 82 in a London clinic, his family has announced.
Buhari, who governed Nigeria from 2015 to 2023, was reported to have travelled to the United Kingdom in April for a routine medical check-up but subsequently fell ill. The cause of death has not been disclosed.
In a brief statement on Sunday, Buhari’s family confirmed his passing: “The family of the former president has announced the passing on of Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR, this afternoon in a clinic in London. May Allah accept him in Aljannatul Firdaus, Amin.”
As a Nigerian, I must express my dissatisfaction with the leadership provided over the past eight years. Rather than experiencing benefits, I have faced pain, limited opportunities for growth, and witnessed similar hardships for numerous youths from my generation. This was also the case during his military rule, which my father endured. His leadership style is marked by a lack of progress, which has been transferred to those under his leadership. While some argue that he fought corruption, it is evident that the majority of Nigerian politicians are corrupt, yet none have been held accountable. Furthermore, his leadership has been marred by the loss of many Nigerian youths during the End SARS protest and Shi'ite protest, which seemed to be of little concern to him. We do not rejoice in the passing of good individuals, but we also do not condemn those who speak the truth about evil men. Are you satisfied with the leaders Nigeria has had since Jonathan left office? In my opinion, Buhari is an evil man, comparable to General Sani Abacha, whose death was celebrated by Nigerians. If you do well, Nigerians will mourn your passing, but if you do evil, people will speak out.
